i cant seem to get the drive axle disconnected from the transmission. Ive removed the 6 bolts holding it up, and according to the manual, it should just slide out. But it isnt...like theyres some invisible force holding it in there...damn that chuck norris.

need help guys...ASAP!

you have to pry it out. there is a snap ring holding it in place.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
there is a c-clip on the part of the axel that is in the transmission. You have to wiggle and jerk it just right for it to pop out. had my transmission out on the floor, using two 4-foot crowbars to pry that s.o.b. outta there. good luck
thanks guys...ill try it out, see what i get. Luckily, i had the spare tranny already pulled, so thats gonna save me quite a bit of time.

I'm noob in cars, may I ask what happened? Or what caused your axel and transmission to go? Does it have anything to do with a bad CV joint?

I would say it has more to do with me wheel hopping the bejesus out of it and dropping the clutch all the time. biggrin.gif

ive learned my lesson though.

sadly enough, the boot in one of the drive axle's is cracked, and the other is rusted. So im going to buy a new one.

*cough* 129.99 *cough*

i have to pick it up tomarrow at Autozone. Im depressed...frustrated...but mostly pissed that i was being stupid.

no, being stupid would have been you not learning a lesson frown.gif . Mistakes happen for a reason, and I'm pretty sure most of the people here have had 'mistakes' like this before .....cough*neutraldropat6000rpms*cough hehe but that was in my old eclipse
