it sucks to get off work then go to a bar to watch the girly and oh so informative news.....pphhhh..... i need to watch a manly sport where men attempt to kill each other for the sake of proving their manliness as i drink my beer and make pointless bets with my friends and engage in manly contests of screaming the name of whatever team i feel will win the game at people cheering on the other...

It's what the NCAA mandates. Practices started last weekend. Monday or Tuesday was the first day in full pads (there's a 2 or 3 practice acclimation period that the NCAA doesn't allow anything but helmets. It's no different than any other Div I school. You can do spring practice, then summer is coaching hands-off. Everything in the summer is "voluntary" workouts because no coach can do anything hands on. Then starting the first week on August practice starts. Schools are only allowed something like 14 practices before the season starts
Kickoff is Sept 2nd at 5:30 against Cal.
