My bodyman is taking my crash bar and cutting it into peice's then building a support on the front bumper. A lot of people take it out. Or they shave it in half, then turn it around and bolt it back on. If that doesn't work the best way is take it off all the way.

Dont take it off or mod it much if at all, thats a huge deal in a crash, without it could mean your life.
i have a spare gt-four front reinforcement bar for sale... it's a lot thinner than the stock ones.

i thought a lot of cars in the states don't come with that crash bar (like evos) which is one of the reasons they aren't allowed in canada... would the replica c-one kit fit over the gt-4 front re-bar?

Have no idea. but creis The guy doing my car is reinforcing my car with way better stuff then a little 5mph bar. That bar does nothing for you when you have a fiberglass bodykit. He's taking my crash bar and building frames around the hole front end to where i could kick the crap outa the front bumper and it wouldn't do nothing but chip paint. I think it will be a lot saver then trying to fit the bumper with the support bar and then hit a bunny or somthing going 35 mph and then the front bumpers gone. But thats not gonna be my case.
im gonna take it to the shop and have them shave if possible, i really want that bar on it. kindasad.gif
does anyone know if it will fit if i shaved off the impact bar like this? /-----\

well, the real c-one is made for the GT-4, so i would assume so.

that impact bar is ment for way more then a little crash! belive me, I've worked on it enough. but cool that they making a full custom frame for it deff a good idea.

shaved off the corners, I know that a lot of people just trim the edges down so the bumper clears so yeah it should work just fine.
(sorry lost thought lol )

I took it off. Its a 5 mph crash bar.

that is a BAD idea...once small crash and your frame is gonna twist like a pretzle.

yea thats why i don't wanna take tht bar off, if someone is drunk and backs up and hit my car its gone. frown.gif frown.gif
Even if you have that bar, and that fiberglass front bumper on its gone.
If i were you, go to a bodyshop that does good fiberglass work, and ask them if they could support the whole front bumper. That way if that were ever to happen it wouldn't mess anything up. Because with a fiberglass bumper and having that crash bar on its not gonna save the bumper.
i know fiber glass will break it just i don't want no one to mess up the frame when they hit me going 5 mph
My body mechanic just took a 1/2 thich by 2 1/2 to 3inch high peice of steel and welded it to the ends where the bolts went on the crash bar.

Yea i understand pandakid. Just have someone shave it off. It will work that way or make your own custom one. I was worrying about mine getting taken off and stuff. But now its ok. Because im getting mine all custom made. But however you want it done.

cut the crash bar to fit

Coming in 2010full paintjob - new wheels - modified body - new interior - engine build- marriage
the bar is divided into three chambers. i cut off the bottom one and it fit with the bumper on. it wont be as strong as if it was complete but its always better to have something then nothing at all.
