Topic #3954 12 posts Started by trdcelicagt
ok I need someone that has done the swap to tell me every thing I need to complete it I need all of the names of the sensors that I need and how to extend my wiring harness every thing to complete the swap

I cant find this info on the net iv looked all over
LOL U guys kill me.

Extending ur harness is kinda self explanitory. Get some extra wiring (either from ur old harness or other), some heat shrink, and learn how to solder.

Dont buy an engine w/o all the senors, u may need to buy an AFM (Air Flow Meter).

Thats about all the information im going to provide seeing as u seem to have alot more homework to do.

Go to Toyota Celicas.com and talk to jhull0712. He's doen the 3sgte and has given me the most knowledge on it. I haven't done it so I could give you all details but yeah exactly what supersprynt said. But a clip, not just the engine. With the clip nothing's cut, with just the enigne, basically they take a chainsaw, and cut everything around the engine...all hoses, wires, everything. Most JDM 3sgte's come with sensors, and it'd be real nice to find a usdm 5th gen all-trac cuz then u get the LHD wiring harness which makes the swap easier.

ok since everyone here is being a ass about this I know I need the engine, ecu, wiring harness, sensors is that all I need or im I missing something can some one pleaz help me out with this cuz I got an engine on its way and I need to know his info soon before it gets here
Dude, you have such a problem on your hands. If I were you, I'd send it back and buy the clip. I feel for you. >frown.gif>
I would advise a new tranny, perferably a 3sge tranny to hold up the engine. If you use a 5sfe, you might run into a problem like Tokagure >biggrin.gif> No offense d00d lol

I know it SEEMS like everyone is being an ass, but you need to run a search sometimes, there's been like a thousand posts on this subject, sorry if I'm coming off as a jerk. with just an engine there are a lot of parts that you will need to source, and it WILL be a pain in the ass.

and as far as forums go, this is an extremely friendly forum, coomer has created an almost family environment, if you posted this on celica.net, you'd get flamed so bad

Yes trd the reason people are being asses is because if you used the search tool for half an hour you'd be able to find the answer to 99% of the questions you have >biggrin.gif>

On that note.. good luck and tell us all how it goes!
buy the clip, you will be so happy you paid a little extra now instead for alot more later
