has anyone seen or heard or know if it is possible to swap a 18RG from a 1972' celica st into our cars?
if its possible i realize there would be some customization due to the motor being and inline 4... please any info on this would be great.

A 34 year old engine? Sounds dicey to me. I don't even feel good about buying a 3SGTE that is over 12 years old...

Im sure it's "possible" but it would be exspensive, hard work, without much reward. The old RA Celicas were RWD so you would have to find a FWD tranny that would work with it, that would also work for our cars. Also, i always thought it was illegal to swap in any engine older than your vehicle into your car, but idk how the laws are in your area. May i ask why you are thinking of doing this particular swap?

i actually dont plan on doing this swap i am just very curious to maby if it could be possible for someone with average income. i looked at the stickys and that motor isnt on there and i realize its because its so old and really not payed much attention to. juss looking into possibility's for the 6gc. thanx for all info and i did realize that its a RWD car that the 18rg comes out of and i whas mainly trying to find out how much hp would our cars gain if someone could put on in and find a tranny to match up with it. this i think would be very interesting to figure out.
