LOL i wish man...i got a coupe though, unless you think you could do something with coupe tails, i'll be first one in line lol

I'am Reinventing the SLow Lane.....
Well the way I've done them, I can't see why it couldn't be adapted to something similar for the coupe.

and michelle95celica, These have been in the making for over a year (on and off when i've had time!) so even the guys who built the bugatti veyron have copied from me haha!!

LOL I just went to a cruise in this last saturday night, there was a Lotus Elise there, and I noticed when it left, it had four identically sized LED circles for the taillights...funny thing is, Lotus uses many Toyota Parts, I'm wondering if they can be adapted? There is a Lotus factory here in Michigan, I'm going to contact them to see if this can be done. I may have the solution to an easy conversion....and for the clear lense, plexiglass would work good....

This saturday I'll talk to the owner of the Elise and get some pics too....
VSIDEBOY, THOSE TAIL LIGHTS ARE AMAZING.

pretty, pretty please....give us some close-ups or a how-to. i'd even buy your how-to if you were to sell it. excellent work.

do you know who i am, mr. worley?
i asked first v. and i dont care how much they cost...just let me know plus shipping. i'd send you enough to buy the lights from toy and what ever else is needed. i just need a nice figure to see what im working with.

guys guys guys, don't fall out.
Like I said I aren't 100% happy with my prototypes yet. Once that I am then I'll consider whether or not to make them. It'll give me something to do over winter if I do make some more.
ok, if someone is bored then can you find out if the us paint codes are the same as the japan/uk ones?

i asume that you'd all want the insides painting to match your cars? (if I did them that is!)
I love the way your tails look vside! I might be interested, depending on price, if you started making them. but I think it might be better if instead of matching to our paint color, just leave the inside black like it is on your car.. I think that'd look good on any color! but I wanna see what b1gr3d comes up with before I decide to buy any taillights. tongue.gif

Actually black seems to be fine with me vside. It brings out the LEDs better during daylight and also they will match my black headlight covers.
my car is black any way smile.gif

what the next hurdle?
one steams up slightly so must be leaking a little water. i'm gonna change what i use and how i seal them and see if that fixes it.
other one is fine though! wierd!
how-to, and i love u long time GI.

how-to

Bump. Yea, lets have a how-to (please). And if someone fancies doing an electronics kit (leds, circuit boards, etc) to get things started for those that want to recreate this mod, that would be great.

i want all the bulbs to be in circles not LINES...try to keep em cheap but good...as usual if anyone has any cool ideas about what to use lemme hear em

I was thinking of a stylised arrow, this kinda shape (just looking at the shape of the arrow, not the construction - think of it wrapping around the corners a little).

>oh and another thing..i read the how-to about making your own clears http://www.6gc.net/index.php?action=howto&itu=2...has anyone tried this with clear plexi?? I was planning on getting some from a hardware store around here and substituting that for the lighting material. and maybe painting the inside of the lene a kandy red so it is still semi-transparent, then get some 3000 and scuff/buf the outside of the light

I was thinking similar, but leaving them crystal clear. I was also thinking about trying to get hold of some diamond pattern mirror plastic like BMW and Mazda currently use in their 3D tail lights. Hopefully our local Hobbycraft store will sell it by the sheet.

Does anyone do perspex taillight covers protectors/guards) for the 6g celica? I assume not as I can't be the first to think about using that to assist with taillight mods.

you know, I was just thinking about this thread the other day and was wondering if there were any updates.

just stumbled upon this thread and im probably way to late but did this go anywhere?
i love the tails v great design
Nothing has happened with this "project" but eventually something will. First th car is gettin painted this winter and eerythng is getti fixed to be a more road worthy vehicle. Life happens

Coming in 2010full paintjob - new wheels - modified body - new interior - engine build- marriage
the best place that I've found its from a guy called CECE on ebay, he ships fast and like in 2-3 days and they are in the mailbox, they are 100% American and of great quality, I already have over 7 months with my LEDs with constant use every day and non have burnt, make sure you dont order exatcly the ammount you need, order at leat 5 more, because sometimes i've gotten around 3-4 leds that dont work, hope this helps

waiting for LEDs for next projectWOW recieved the LEDs, just tested a set up on a breadboard and I can barely see anything lol. I think I'm closer to being blind !!
Just for an update, I ain't done anything with my lights yet, but I am hoping to move house soon and I am definitely having a garage this time so I will then be able to make more of a mess without the ball and chain shouting at me wink.gif

Anyway, not forgotten about you guys, as I have them all seperated I will also try to remember to take some assembly pics and write a little howto for ya (don't wanna make it too detailed as its good being the only one with em in the world bwah hahahaha

Anyway, something will appear this year guys. stay tuned.

Dan
Id be more than willing to send a set of USDM stock tails to toy around with if you decide to make them to sell. Id love a set. Keep up the work, enjoy having a garage.
