Anyone who followed my "2 big muffler" thread will know that I wasn't very satisfied with the results in lowering the volume of the highway drone in my car. I have decided to go to plan B and buy an Apexi Active Tail Silencer. Its pretty cool. Its basically a tail pipe silencer that has a spring activated back piece that opens up the exhaust size upon certain exhaust pressure. This allows the car to travel around quietly for daily driving and then scream like a mo-fo when you get on it - exactly what I want. I think I will probably have to have an adapter made for my magnaflow muffler becuase the piece is made for Apexi mufflers which have odd sizes. Anyway, check out the link:

why dont you just sound deaden your interior?

Very good choice, on one of my older cars with dual exhaust I have 2 silencers that I had to pull out if I wanted my car loud again. It was such a pain in the ass I went months without changing.

Im having a hard time imagining that this is going to work. You need the exact outlet size that an Apexi muffler has. Magnaflow has totally different tips. Also securing this silencer inside the tip of the magnaflow muffler will problematic. Post pics if you get it to work

jay i have PLAN C for you it will work like a charm..

disconnect your exhasut from your downpipe for about a week, then reconnect it and it will be silent.. now that i have my exhaust on i can hardly tell the car is running compared to running open downpipe for 2 months lol

dude, if its round and have the same diameter....I don't see why it won't work as long as he can mount it on there. And mounting is simple, if there are existing holes in the muffler for a silencer, then he just have to drill holes in the silencer to match up so he can put screws in there.

Speedy, you can't possibly be wrong two times about my exhaust! The OD of the Apexi ATS is 90mm. The ID of the Magnaflow muffler is 99mm. I am having a stainless steel spacer custom fabricated that will be placed between the silencer and the muffler tip.
