i personally like them all, but ended up with a vert. for some reason, id rather have a coupe or hatch though . seems like there isnt that many kits/stuff u can add to a a vert. and its heavier .. dammit...
Coupes vs. Hatchbacks - 6G Celicas Forums
yeah im with you, i wish i had a hatch lol cause i like the backseats, they look wayyyy nicer.
Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
I prefer the vert, when I drove mine around town, man it was an attention grabber:)
Mmmm, the convertible IS a coupe, with the top chopped off. The coupe's better handling, stiffer body and lighter. The tall rear end of the hatch gives it a sportier look, but I like the simplicity of the coupe, more like a true sports car. Easier to see out the back I bet too.

Overall Length is the same between HB and Coupe? and Vert is less? That seems counter intuitive. I thought for sure a cuope/vert is longer than a hatch. And the 360 lbs LESS than a hatchback!!! Damn homie. Diffantly will make a diff on the track.
Yeah I agree with most that a Hatch looks better than a "stock" coupe. But I still love my car.

I like all 6GC but I do own a hatch. One thing I love is the trunk space! 16 cubic feet and I use EVERY inch of it. My hatch is filled ALL the time.

I like my hacthback. trunk space galore, and if you flip down the back seats you have soooo much storage space it's not even funny. I bag groceries at a grocery store, and we offer to help customers take their groceries to their cars. well, one night I helped out this lady and she had a white coupe. she didn't have very much stuff, but I still had trouble fitting it all in. anyway, that brings me to my next point, how come everyone that I ever see driving a 6th gen around my town (there are at least 7 or 8 in my city besides mine) is some middle-aged lady? *sigh* our cars deserve better.
other than that, I just like the way the hatch looks a little more. but I still respect the coupe and have seen some sweet ones. I just wouldn't want to own one since I wouldn't be able to fit my guitar and amp in the back!

theres auto gt-4s correct?
i must say, as a coupe owner, that IMO hatches are sexier stock. when modded correctly both hatch and coupe are equal, but in my budget range, the sexier car would have been the hatch. but i was naive when i got the car and didnt know about the hatches, and the coupe is still sexy, just not as much as the hatch.

Far as I know, the Caldina is the first vehicle to pair an auto tranny and the magnificent monster known as the 3SGTE... Every single All-Trac is a manual... hatchback too... cough liftback cough....
My "two cent", the 5th gen coupe w/three piece spoiler looks the best... My All-Trac was heavy as F-word, and yeah thats the motor, options, drivetrain, etc, but that friggin hatch didnt help. The 5th gen GT hatches are a blast. Sadly, I don't know what its like to drive a 6th gen...
... But I think the hatch looks the best... Personally, I don't like the sideways lights, but thats me... if they were done up like the 99-00 Civic Si with the red and white, itd look a lot better...
What will I be getting in the near future? A hatch... I bought the TRD quick shifter for it when I had my Trac, and planned on getting the car to match the shifter...
And yes I am dead serious about that
No matter what you own, be it a 1st gen or a 6th gen, coupe vet or hatch, beater or show winner, stick or auto... You are part of a family... Long live the dragon

i dont think 7th gens sported the dragon.
did they?
did they?
Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D
no^^^ no dragons on the 7th gens... well ive seen a few people add them , but not quite the same.
a couple days late, but here goes.
technically, the coupes are *better* handling cars, because the plenum under the rear window acts as a brace between the shock towers on the rear. hatches, which lack any rigidity between the upper mounts, should technically suffer from less body rigidity.
the cargo capacity of coupes is laughable, i should know. i loved the way mine looked, but due to the high trunk sill (and consquent shallow trunk opening), cargo volume was insufficient. there was a lot of space back there, but if you couldn't fit it through the narrow trunk opening, game over. the hole in the panel behind the seats further limits cargo input.
the hatch has fewer interior obstructions, as well as a much larger opening. while i realise that this is a sporty car and was never intended to substitute for a pickup truck, moving back and forth to college a couple times a year would be much easier in a hatch. not to mention having space for a bmx bike, guitar amps, and anything else remotely cool one might want to carry along.
i'll have to do some research on the weight distributions, but i should think that they're about the same. the 6gen is an uncommonly well-balanced car at nearly 50/50.
on looks, i say they're totally tied. on practicality and functionality, hatches hands down.

do you know who i am, mr. worley?
verts = the fat asses of the celi family
well n/m about the fat part, but they are overweight lol
lol if i get locked in the trunk im dead cause i dont have that thing where you could get out. lol but with so little space, especially since i got the subwoofer box that isint even big, it takes up like 3/4th of the space.
i hate going to cosco in my vert cause i gotta play tetris in the trunk to get everything to fit.
