Big Ben - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #38234 30 posts Started by Cutrara
He's in stable but serious condition, and wasn't wearing a helmet. I posted a few weeks ago how I helped a guy that wrecked at highway speeds but he was wearing a full helmet and face mask.

yeah, so this guy at work (i'm skeptical about the truth) was telling me how there's no helmet law in PA?...but even so, it's just the smarter way to go!

They just amended the law about 3 years ago to make helmets optional.

Its sad but he had it coming. After Winslows accident, u would think that he'd be smarter about it.

man im scuurrred for steela football now

The only reason why theres a no helmet law is becuase the state doesn't get moeny for haveing the law like the seatbelt, the government gives money to states that have the law...but helmets, nope

That sucks, I like Big Ben. I wish the Chargers would have

Your brother is into bikes, right? What if you posted here about your brother wrecking his bike, and being in the intensive care unit, wondering if his life will ever be same, and someone just basically said they don't give a **** about him.

Big Ben is our brother.

Edit: And I just remembered you're from WA. Way to hold a superbowl grudge. And nice job hoping his career is ruined. You're disgusting.

im not holding a grudge - he wasnt wearing a helmet so i dont feel sorry for him! just like if ur in an accident and not wearing ur seat belt i dont feel sorry for you!

my half bro was into bikes but hes also not young and stupid. He wore his helmet. Theres a law in Idaho that you dont have to wear a helmet but everyone in a group that i know of who rode to STURGIS kept their helmet on cuz theyre not stupid

Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City
Apparently, you ARE holding a grudge. Otherwise you would have not wished ill on his career.

I believe your exact words were "and i hope it was in his contract that he wasnt supposed to be on a motorcycle!" So not only do you not care that he's in critical condition, but you also hope that he loses his career and has to pay back his signing bonus.

Sounds like you want to throw salt in the wound.

lol!

hoping it was in his contract doesnt mean that he would lose his career! lol but if ur worth millions of dollars you should be a bit smarter. hell even if ur not worth millions you should be a bit smarter.

and every state should have a law to wear a helmet.

and hes not in critical hes in serious but stable condition. and had a 7 hour surgery yesterday. He broke his nose and jaw - id say he was lucky. Hes also talking and coherent.

You and I both know if that was in his contract, he'd be pretty much ****ed.

Actually i dont konw cuz i dont really know football hence why i cant hold a grudge about the superbowl cuz its not like im a die hard fan

I don't think anything specific about motorcycles is in Ben's contract, it still has the generic clause the all NFL contracts have. It states that if you can't play due to a non-football related injury you won't get paid, and you'll have to pay back any signing bonuses or incentives.

Its still is his fault for not wearing a helmet. The injurys would of not been so bad if he would of worn his helmet. I think its is really stupid to go on a bike with out a protective gear, eventhough there is no law that makes you wear a helmet. in florida there is no law that you do have to wear a helmet, but i will never get on my bike with out a helmet.
He had multiple lacerations...2 missing teeth, more chipped teeth. Multiple contusions, fractured nose, fractured jaw and i think he had a couple other things wrong with him but he's been upgraded to Fair condition.

I'm keepin this tongue.gif
i feel bad that he's hurt so bad and hope he does recover well...

but on the other hand he's a complete dumbass for riding without a helmet...thats just pure basic commonsense...

hopefully he'll recover in good time and realize just because your a superbowl star doesn't make you invisible to the pavement and slap a helmet on his head just like on the feild...just imagine a linebacker sackin you in the nfl w/o a helmet...ow
He should have had a helmet.

Cars need to be more aware of motorcycles. It seems like almost all of he accidents involving a car and a bike are "I was turning left and didn't seem him." Thank God he's alive. We had a old lady turing into a rest home a few miles from college turned left right infront of a bike, decapitating him, and severly injuring the wife who was riding on the back.
