I saw this last night. I honestly thought it was a good movie. The problem is, for those of us who have read the book there is no way you can make a movie in under 2 1/2 hours that contains all the information and excitment that the book did. The book has a lot more of the historical explanation in it. This is no new news books are always better then the movie, but i think that it was a decent representation of what the book was all about. There are a few things I would change and i wasnt thrilled with Tom Hanks' performance of Robert Langdon. I don't think this movie is for everyone, i find that a lot of people are not interested in the historical facts that are in the book and movie, and that for me is a lot of why i enjoyed the book.

I don't want to see it cause of Tom Hanks' hair.

It was a good movie.. but like Tina said, it is definitely not for everyone.

It was alright. Wasnt a BAD movie, just takes patience. Its a great story and its entertaining, but just kinda dragged.

dont worry...apple has no significance until it is actually revealed in the movie. the actual da vinci code is the entire process it took to get the main actors from the beginning to the end.

i didnt find it as blockbuster quality, but since the media hyped it up so much, of course its gonna rake in the dough. i give it 7/10 stars

long story short, i dont wanna see it, so can someone just tell me what happend exactly at the end? PM me if you dont wanna ruin it for everyone else. Thanks

it was just alright for me. i liked it and everything, but its not as great as the book. maybe i would've liked it more if i hadn't read it. cuz reading the book pretty much took out all the suspense and mystery for me. but yeah... i still liked it.

I'm a fairly religious person, my family is Italian and we're Roman Catholic. But the scientic method works the other way around. You test a hypothesis to prove truth.

i never said that it did not contain some truth. I am saying that it is not ALL truth.

I can see this one heating up pretty quick. Personally, I do believe the Bible to be the infalable word of God, but anyways: the movie.

All historical liberties, half truths, and such aside, it was a good movie, but like everyone has said before, it's difficult if not impossible to cram everything significant from the book into a 2.5 hour movie.

I thought the CGI and overlaying was very interesting and wouldn't have expected it in a movie like this one. It was an interesting spin on "getting inside of the actors' heads." Something that can be hard to do in a movie a lot of the time. All in all, worth your $$

I can understand why people don't want the Bible to be truth, cuz that would mean their are consequences to their life.

But just because some don't believe it to be fact doesn't make it not truth. :-)

It is interesting to see the mixed opinions of the movie.. not sure if it was overal good or bad?

According to the bible, it's an abomination to eat shellfish. Therefore, all us on this board who have eaten shrimp are going to burn in hell, just like the rest of us sinners... I hate to disagree (not with it's principles), but the Bible is meant to be taken with a grain of salt...

think of "National Treasure" featuring Nicholas Cage. It's pretty similar to that with all the treasure hunting. In fact, National Treasure was waaay better in my opinion.

i'm a catholic. i think religion is based on faith, not facts. however, its a fact that jesus christ was an actual person. he's in history books and everything. the davinci code is historical fiction. just theories based on actual facts. the thing about the painting of the last supper is true, but its not an actual photo of the last supper. so its just a perpective of one man. don't believe everything you read or see on tv.

Whats funny is that they say this code is fiction based on historical facts... however they didn't do good research,

for example they talk about the vatican in 300AD yet it its origins are traced only to 600AD. Plus the book constantly talks about "this is purely speculation" then later say "based on that, this must be true" LOL


so compared (movie wise) to National Treasure, this is worse?

I honestly dont understand how someone can actually sit down and think for themselves for a little bit instead of what has been driven into their brain when theyre growing up and say yeah, there is an all powerful god there is an all knowing god and sure he lets millions of people get slaughtered in his name, take money from the poor in his name and come away a believer.
