Topic #37339 12 posts Started by eggman40
Hello everyone, I am getting ready to get a boost controller and put my 3sgte at 13psi and wanted to make sure i dont miss anything and hutrt the motor.
I will install a FMIC and a turbo xs boost controller. i have the stock ct26 turbo on the 2nd gen 3s. Aside from a better fuel pump what else will i need to do? Thanks for the help ahead of time

the stock turbo for that car is a ct26 not a ct20.

get your fmic and a walbro or supra fuel pump in the tank. other then that, turn it up and enjoy the new car. 13psi is where it all starts to come alive.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
youll also have to disable fuel cut. there are many ways to do that tho

biggrin.gif whoops my fault, i screwed up tongue.gif thank you much Lagos, your allways a great help.

Fuel cut

will this work or can i find it cheaper?
You can disable fuel cut by disconnecting the vacuum line to the Turbo Pressure Sensor and plugging it.

If you want to retain fuel cut you can just wire in a zener diode to the PIM input of your ECU or build this simple circuit to make it adjustable:

EDIT: WHOA! just clicked the ebay link... DO NOT PAY $89 FOR THAT!

Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete...
fuel cut defenders like the hks are highly overrated. i think the lowest boost u can set the hks one to is actually 17psi if im not mistaken. theres a great how-to over at mrcontrols.com on how to make ur own fuel cut defender. i made one for myself based on that site and its fully adjustable and works like a charm. or if ur not too familiar with electronics i can make 1 for yah

edit: the link wunnabegt4 posted is the how-to im talking about...its alot more adjustable than the hks

Thank you, that helps a lot! the mr2 instructions look complicated. Ill get back to you guys on what i had to do. thanks again i appriciate it
just unplug and cap the map sensor. thats what i did. free fuel cut!

i did build my own fcd based on that sites info, but never got around to installing it in my car.

bboy.... can you take a pic of where you mounted your fcd and how it ended up looking?

i used this ^ velcro to mount it. this things awesome if u wunna mount anything to a brick, metal, or plastic surface. its weather proof too and can hold heavy crap like my drill on my garage wall lol

all good stuff. i was wondering how i would mount mine. velcro seems like an easy fix to that problem.
