Spent All Day Installing Speakers!!! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #36716 12 posts Started by LimitedST
Alright, woke up around 2:00 pm, yeah i over slept frown.gif
decided i would tear the car apart and install the speakers that have been sitting around in my trunk. earlier i posted that they sounded like crap, and after wiring them directly to the head unit, they sounded ALOT better than through the amp. no more static, jsut clean crisp music!!
so yeah. heres some pics. and a link to a video, the video is relaly crappy quality cuz it was with my really crappy digital camera. so the sound sounds bad, but in person you can be down the street or right next to it and it sounds the same, perfect vocals and not to much bass.
although the Subwoofers + amp isnt wired yet, because the amp needs to be serviced cuz its broken frown.gif
so this is just the speakers. smile.gif 2 6x9 4-ways 2 4" 2-ways 4 6.5" 2-ways
enough babbleing heres the pics. +video tongue.gif

(yes the speakers in teh back are resting on encyclopedias. next weekend, im going to be fiberglassing my trunk and thats how the speakers will lay in the back, not 100% with the subs where they are though. smile.gif

they are in no particular order, some are when they were being installed, some are after installed, some are when the car is put back together.

the 4" on the ground by my pedals / pasenger feet will have a custom fiberglass kick panel made for them when i make my custom fiber glass trunk. cant wait to get started biggrin.gif

^^ thats the video. crappy quality and bad editing I KNOW! smile.gif

hehe yay!
they seriously sound SOO amazing in person. its ridiculous cant wait till i can drive the car again! smile.gif
one question, why so many speakers, and the 6x9's come on, plus you should get a box for the subs and they will hit so much harder

of course im gunna have a box for the subs silly. the whole trunk is going to be fiberglassed.
why so many speakers?
why not?
it sounds amazing, and the 6x9's ... are perfect. especially where they are placed, they add Great vocals across teh whole car because of the 3 tweeters, and still add huge bass without distorting the sound. the 8: subs wont be where they are, they will not be visible unless the trunk is open. if they were that close to the 6x9's it would distort them and sound horrible.

but again, why not? the car sounds amazing. thats like me asking... why a 3sgte? why not? its fast and fun!

hehe sorry frown.gif

i did some fiberglassing today. but after i did it, i decided i dont like it haha! oh well. thats why i got so much. smile.gif
Hmmm, from a musical stand point it seems like the 4" and 6x9s would totally throw off the balance of the sound. But i guess it could sound alright...i think when you get those subsup and running in there you might want to adjust the 6x9s... Make sure you take lots of pics while you fiberglass!! Always fun to watch progress.

I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club!

smile.gif yeah i will take lots of pics for you guys !! smile.gif

yeah the 6x9's and the 4" are perfect where they are. doesnt throw off any sound at all, but im worried the subs will distort the 6x9's so i dunno. kindasad.gif
what fosgate speakers did you put in the doors in front? (prt #'s), and what RF speakers in the back seat pannels? (prt #)... i already have a P5002 RF punch amp on 2 RF punch P2 12's *DVC* ... now i just need to know what highs and mids i need to get to match the sound quality of the lows wink.gif
