Alright, so on each of my doors the cloth that goes over the fatty padding is starting to come off, no more stickyness to hold it there.

Should I rip off the cloth and clean off the padding that was underneath and just have it like that?

I'll go with 1.
It's easier and still retain the factory look.
The other option I would consider is getting it retrim in leather.

I had the exact same problem as you! I ended up ripping off the cloth (it was faded anyways) and it looks much much cleaner now! But I will tell you, it wasn't fun cleaning off that glue. Me and a friend used some goo-gone, and a steel wool pad. I like it a lot better this way!

Wait, the steel wool pad didn't scratch it up? And what about the coloration after it all came off?

Mine's doing the same thing, I think I'm going to peel it off and dye it black then glue it back on

anyone know of good fabric glue for this kinda thing?

Mine had the same problem a few years back, so I just took some spray adhesive, and glued it together/made it look like stock again (even tucking the sides of the fabric into the crack around it)…. Waaalaaa,

...btw, is there not a way to take that small panel out and re-fabric "properly"?

That's what I'd always planned to do, but I've been told, the bit around the door handle, which is all tucked in, doesnt come off? So apparently you can't the fabric out there, without cutting it. I'm not sure on this though, it's just what I've heard.

Well, to answer, all my cloth came off and out perfectly, nothing ripped and I didn't have to cut anything.

Pretty much what prsure said.. I didn't take anything apart, just pulled right out. Maybe the worse the glue is underneath the easier to pull off.

Hmm, yeah.. I wonder if you take the door apart, if you can pop that thick pad out that the cloth was overtop... It would be alot easier to clean and possibly re-paint.

Well i just went out and pulled mine off cuz it was coming off. I do like how I looks, I just need to clean it up..

So did you all use SOS pads? Or what?

I used Goo Gone, some water and a towel and a really stiff black scrubbie type thing.
