I like the looks of it. Way better looking than the miata and solstice. I bet the SC redline will cost 25k. I think 29 might be a bit high for saturn
if it wasnt a gm product...and i didnt have my Z....id probably get it

2011 Spice Orange Mini Cooper2011 Alpine White BMW E92 M3gone but not forgotten2008 Space Grey BMW Z4 ///M2009 Black Honda Civic LX Coupe2006 Magnetic Black Nissan 350Z2007 Crimson Red BMW 335i Coupe
im going to gess 25-27k, i dont think theyd go that high with it.

i really like it though, better than the solstice
Racing a honda (insert Saturn) is like the special olympics. Even if you win, your still retarted.

Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Suspension overhaul begins........

Its still one of the fastest production vehicles under $30,000 and great looks. If I didn't need a back seat, it would be near the top of my list. As it is, I am going to wait for the new IS convertible.

4 Cyl!! They all end up that in the end(V8). Alluminum block 4
oil eater from hell. That is a sweet ass Vega. Camero split, is wicked,
in 39 years I have never seen such a beast. The Vega body is a classic
no doubt, the stock four blew. (unless u were lucky enough to have a Cosworth.

JDM guy made me do it.
my friend has a redline (no idea if its the first version of this^^), there not bad and pretty quick, however sooo many problems.. his car has been in the shop like 4 times and one more time and he gets a new car.. the cat melted first which is surprising and hes had problems with the tranny, saturn should not make sports cars imo

Ah, the good ol' Iron Duke!

The Sky redline does look pretty nice; how come the solstice looks like crap when it's almost the same thing? Goes to show what a few tasteful accents can do.
yeah, saturns are typically cheap cars and you get what you pay for, but I have a feeling that the Sky will be better quality for a couple of reasons 1) GM is in the ****ter and needs as much as it can get 2) this is prolly the 2nd or first most expensive car they have and they want to sell alot and what i saw at th NAIAS its interior was way better than the solstice for.

As for the redline, your friend has the Ion Redline. Supercharged, Im not a fan of Ions and I think I have seen just 1 Ion redline on the road, thouhg I have seen a few Cobalt SS's.... GM is trying to make a comeback, and I think with styling like the SKY they are on the right track
the saturn dealer by my house is asking $25k for a regular Sky

really cool looking car.

I wouldn't worry about the build quality of the Sky. The Sky is to a Solstice what a Firebird was to a Camaro. A higher class version.

About the Motor, that GM Ecotec 4 is a helluva motor. The stock bottom end on that thing has already proven to support upwards of 700 HP. It's a freaking tank.

And I just saw a Sky on the road a couple of days ago (a perk of living just a couple hours from the plant in DE where the Solstice/Sky are built). It was a steel blue with a tan top (didn't go well), and dang sexy.

The STOCK bottom end of the ecotec can handle upwards of 700hp? For how long? 0.9 seconds before all four rods shatter? Ya sure there's not some internal upgrades going on there? I'm not doubting it can handle a lot; I've heard some impressive things about it, but 700hp seems a little high. I have an uncracked aftermarket rod for a smallblock dodge sitting right here that's good for about 800 ponies and I think it's a little more stout than what they put in a cavalier:

Well, don't quote me 100%, but if I remember right, that Saturn Ion that GM was using at the Bonneville Salt Flats for high speed runs I do believe had a stock bottom end ecotec in it. If it wasn't stock, it was fairly near it. Either way those things are VERY stout.
first thing left open,
no, your buddy did not have a sky redline, he has a ion redline. they're supercharged i believe, and eh...they're ok.

2nd thing about the rod,
let's not forget cavalier = toyota wink.gif how else is it so reliable.

the book that GM puts out on how to build your ecotec motor says that the internals are good to about 300hp, then all bets are off.

it is, however, a very capable motor.

The new Car and Driver has an article about the Sky. They give it a good review for looks and handling but complained about power, some poorly placed interior pieces, the manual top which requires the driver to be out of the car to operate, and the lack of storage space. They predicted the Sky Redline would retail for about $28,000 this fall.

Ecotecs take a great deal of punishments. Back home there are a few Saab Viggens and a few Cobalts putting down serious numbers...at the wheels and at the track. I wouldn't mind slapping an Ecotec in my Celica.
