So yesterday my fiance and i were heading out to the nearest city (winnipeg) to go out for supper. it's about an hour drive, and we have to go through this town called morris, it's about the half-way point from where we live, to winnipeg. now morris is a fairly small community, but there was this early 90's civic hatch, with a painted black hood, and a HUGE honda decal across the windshield. he was lookin at us drive by, my fiance was driving, and then we're about 10 minutes outside of morris already, and we look behind us, and this civic is following us. so he catches up, pulls up beside, looks at me, downshifts, cuts in front of us, then at the next corner, turns around to go back to morris.


who would drive an extra like, 15 miles just to down shift and cut in front of someone, to show off their ****ty civic? it sounded awful, looked awful, and yeah... it was just pretty funny.

we laughed a lot.

bet he went home, and was like "raced a celica today" bet it by 8 cars" lol

it doesnt really matter what that guy was driving but the fact of what he did... ive seen celicas do that too so its not the make and model of car its the way in which the car has been turned into a P.O.S. and driven to the extent of stupidity

no way, i'd take a stock celica over ANY civic. I've never seen a civic that looked nice. I could care less about whats in the engine, since im on the street and I dont street race, if you want a ticket thats fine by me. Theres only 1 kind of racing for me, the WRC.

Ive 2 nice civics...

My sister's being one of them... That car was insanely cool... Its had a sweet kit, sweet rims, then after it was stolen and once it was brought back, it got a different wing.. then it was stolen again and then she sold it and bought a Lexus IS300 and now will never move out cuz shes in so much debt from buying it... dammit >_<

no offense guys but there are some badly done celicas out there too. so lets start bashin the celica owners.

its just because civics are so cheap and easy for 16/17 yr olds to buy... then they go and buy parts for it because those are also very cheap, like altezzas and crappy fartcans, etc... theres tons of stuff you can put on it, and a lot of the people that drive them are young.. in my area anyways...

its just a lot more common to see a ****ty civic than it is to see a ****ty any other car... lol

Always with the Civic bashing... hasn't it gotten old yet? Bash the driver, not the car.

oh geez, if any of you actually knew me and had read my other posts regarding civic bashing you would know i wasn't "bashing" the civics. all i meant was that it seemed to be coincidental that someone who would do that, owned a civic. and he wasn't a teen, he was like, in his mid 20's.

Would you be telling this story if it were another Celica... or maybe a Supra? What's with all the hate on cars that isn't a Toyota or Celica? The driver was a d*ck get over it.

I'd say she's "painting a mental picture" instead of bashing.

if i was "civic" bashing (which i mean in general) i would've said that this was typical, and that i wasn't surprised. i was just trying to paint a mental picture, you are very correct. if it would've been a nice looking civic, i would have said that. but yes, if it had been a celica that looked as bad as this civic, i would have had no problem saying the same thing about a celica, or any car for that matter.

Civics can certainly be done up really clean, and be made disgustingly fast. However when there are that many aftermarket parts made for a car, it's owners sometimes use poor judgement and buy all the cheap parts they can get their hands on to make their car "better". This has unfortunately become generalized to the Honda community.

Although regardless of the make or model, where theres an abundance of cheap parts there is usually poor taste....in my opinion its the ability to express constraint and be choosy about what you put on your car that makes it really stand out and be sexy. I've seen some Celicas that I don't particularly care for, and I've seen a few Civics that I would love to own. Really, its all relative and not just a "Honda" thing, like Chanh said.


I've had little run-ins like this also, and its funny ....but its not Hondas, but the drivers that get carried away with themselves when they see something sporty next to them.
