Just a headsup from a local forum I visit: There's been more than one case of counterfeit tiens being sold, ebay or private. It looks like a real problem so check the tiens before you buy.

i know there are a large number of Tein owners here. i'm curious to know how many have authentics and how many have counterfeits?

I'm lucky and got a real pair. It's amazing how close the fakes are to the real ones.

Damn... there's fake everything nowadays... I bought mine at Super Autobacs... but I'm gonna check anyways.

oh wow! im going to check mine now. I havent installed them yet... so im just hoping for the best.

yeah i was just gonna check to make sure mine weren't fakes... but sold mine to clipster... i'll feel bad if they were :-(

haha...i bet they are probably the same for the most part and nobody could tell a difference in ride. Are they selling for the same price as the real ones?

counterfiet products for the aftermarket industry has always been a present and has always been a problem.

Tein are not the only company that has parts duplicated. Greddy, HKS, Apexi, Defi, etc... has had their products copied.

This is why I am not a big fan of Ebay purchasing when it comes to aftermarket car parts. In a matter of fact i never purchased car parts from Ebay or any other bidding website.

I strongly suggest buying from a reputable tuner shop whether it is a store front shop or an e-commerce company. Buying from a reputable company has many pros and very few cons. For example, if you have questions on your purchase their is the "go-to" guy, you can easily return a product pretty much hassle free, and you know the company will be there.

I not saying that Ebay is not a great place for online orders, i'm just saying that if a MSRP of a product is $1000 and you see the same item on Ebay for $600 brand new, I would strongly think twice.

Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Real, but yet uninstalled?

This thread probably saved me from ending up with a set of couterfit springs. I'm going to have to take a look around a little better now for the S-Techs'.

gonna check tomorrow, but im 98% they r real, I got them sent directly from TEIN in the states via JRP. If they are fake, im gonna give JRP hell.

aw crap, i bought a set off ebay about 3 weeks ago from a shop called MF technologies in Vancouver BC. They havent arrived yet, i hope they aren't fake.

Got the real ones luckily...I bought them off ebay 2 years ago and thats best upgrade to my car so far. sweet looking and nice ride
