can a celica gt beat a 99 civic ex and 94 accord? these guys keep reving it at me i just wanna know if i have a chance?

If it is a vti, and your celi has not any special modifications, you propably have no chance!
It is the v-tec that makes these honda real fast, even if you have 10-15 more horsepower than them!

it would be pretty even... but yes, when vtec kicks in, you probably will fall behind a little. but the thing is, we have power right from the get-go, honda's really only have that power band after vtec kicks in, which is at 5500rpm's for those civic's... so you might stand a chance, just depends what speed you race til i suppose.

What kind've distance are you talking about? If you're just talking about stoplight to stoplight why not? Go for it.

I totally agree, vtec doesnt make them fast. Ease of swaps and tons of aftermarket parts and the FAST AND THE FURIOUS made hondas fast.

Man if its a LX accord you can whoop it. THe civic 99, im almost positive you can whoop it. LX doesnt have vtec, and the EX, im not sure, but i dont think they do especially if its a 99.

accords are heavy and civic ex not that light so i would just go from a dig. the cars should be equal

I dont know if streetracing is a waste of time, but personally i enjoy it wherever it takes place, in the road or in the dragster races... I hate honda too, and i would not ever buy one because i am a fan of supercharged awd cars. So, as long 12 years that i drive, i had a Lancia Integrale, Nissan GTI-R, and now my beloved Celica for me, and a Mitsubishi Evo6 for me and my family. Never had and never will get a Honda..
But i know that it is a fact that Hondas VTI or TYPE-R, are really fast cars if you consider that they dont have turbos. I dont see any difference in aftermarket parts than the rest Japanese makes. As there is Mugen for them, there is trd for us, nismo for nissan etc. If you have enough money you can have whatever you like, right? Also, they cannot have as much horsepower as we can by upgrading our turbos.. At the moment, the best Type-r that i ever heard, has only 330hp and the cost for the owner was about 30000$ as they must pay a fortune to mugen or hondata for the special parts. So, if you have a gt-four, plus 30000$ for swaps, you propably will get double the hpower of that honda, right?
So my opinion is that IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in races, and you hate Honda you must have a turbo celica..An St will be humiliated, a GT will have no chance, but a descent gt-four will bring tears to their eyes..
If you are not interested, you can just ignore them and enjoy your car with your own way.

Not saying their bad cars, the ITR is a really nice car IMO, and def. quick for what it is and a great competitor. I just think the term really fast is a bit strong for it.

^ my sis's bf has a buddy who has an integra with a CRV block, GSR head, turboed, blue printed engine etc. hez pushing 720WHP. Dyno queen only though. Cant hook up when he gives her on the street.

i kill my friends sohc vtech civic, its a 98, all the time.. and my car is auto.. so i wouldnt say vtech is soo mighty, of course a dohc vtech is a lil different so idk about that and a vtech turbo is really good imo but if its a single i dont think u should lose

of course the 99 ex's have vtec... 96-99 civic ex/si(canadian) all had vtec.

you will win, the '00 si civic has the same 0-60 time as your gt, plus the ex is the slowest of slow

ive beatne those 2 cars..and all i have is a ebay intake n exhuast..=P....go for it..BUT get a scanner first b4 u do ne racing.....tickets can get TOO expensive...

i say don't waste your time. who cares if they're faster or not. all that matters is that our cars are a hundred times sexier.

Depending on the drivers and other mods, you should beat them

That's a hard one because my '93 stock Honda Accord LX picks up A LOT faster than my '95 Celica GT.
