I haven't had a chance to jack up the car and start looking.. anyone have any pics of some common spots to leak and how to fix them?

The only leak I had on my car was a blown gasket for the union bolt that the high pressure power steering line is connected to $2.00 and fixed in 1 day. The only other place I could see it leak from is the pump itself the factory high pressure hose is built really durable.

:Example pic of what I'm talking about :From Camry specs:

^^^ The gasket looks exactly like the one pictured and in same area bolted on to the power steering pump. (Its the one that says gasket in the pic)

GASKET, PRESSURE POR [Part# 4432730030] For 94-99 Celica AT200/ST204
Toyota
Price:$2.63

Edit: You can actually see the union bolt on the top pass side of the engine bay bolted on to the pump if you see PS fluid around the union bolt that could be where its leaking from.

I have seen the high pressure hose leak at the crimp fittings before, be sure to clean everything till its dry and then have someone run the car and move the wheel side to side to see where its leaking from. I've also seen random pin-hole leaks in hoses.

I had a power steering leak at the high pressure hose connection to the pump. There was power steering fluid everywhere. Bitter's troubleshooting is what I did, and the leak was pretty evident. I just just had to tighten the bolt a little more and it went away.

well i didn't get a chance to jack the car up yet.. but did stop and picked up a bottle of power steering fluid but also got some of the power steering stop leak stuff.. anyone ever use that?

the stop leak should not be used. it will swell the rubber seals in the system and probably cause problems later on, its not for this kind of leaks.

found my leak.. it was the low pressure hose near the middle of the car... it was cracked from age... swapped it out and refilled the system.. bled it and now it doesn't squeal and doesn't leak... smile.gif
