I need help. I was trying to take my rims off to put the stock 14" tires on because I need to refurbish some of the rims. I kinda broke the key that takes my lugs off. So I went to Advance Auto Parts and the guy told me I needed to buy a deep socket. I don't think the guy knew what he was talking about... I don't have stock lugs. My neighbor said something about grided or gorilla lugs... I'm not sure. But the point is, I have two problems.

I need to know where I can find anohter key to take off / put on the lugs. Anyone know where I can find one and the specific name for these?

AND

If you look at the last pic, you'll notice the broken piece got stuck around the lug. Any ideas on how to remove this?

isnt that a universal key that enkei makes? my gf has that same kind of key..try going to discount tires or somewhere where they sell enkeis and see if they have keys for sale.

I hope so! Thank man, I'll check it out first thing tomorrow morning. The key itself doesn't say anything and my rims are ADR, but I got them from a wheels place so it could possibly be from Enkei. Thanks again Lew. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thats a spline key. We have those everywhere at Discount Tires. I can get some if you cant find any.

they make a bolt to hammer over to take them off, but then they become useless after that.

just use a flat head screw driver and pry it off... Dont goto a auto parts store to find those, goto some kinda wheel/tire place.

try a 15mm 12pt deep socket. Worked for me to get some lugs like that of my GT when I first bought it (the douche didn't give me the key). Also, buy it from Sears (Craftsman), just in case it breaks, you can get a replacement for free and keep trying

for the broken key part on the lug...try needle nose vise grips, should work just fine.

Also, after you get if fixed, just buy some regular lugs because people don't steal wheels anymore really, they just steal the whole car.

That at least removes the the novice thieves from the list. Not everyone knows how to hot-wire a car and not everyone carries different keys for lugs, but just about everyone has a cross bar to remove lugs in their trunk. But I get what you mean, I'd just rather be on the safe side.
