So the other day i had my heat on and it was working ok. I went to the gym, i came out and i got in my car and put the heat on, when i did it started making a "growling noise" from the passingers side. I have no idea why. Sounds like a fan or something.
So the questions are, has anyone had a similar problem? if so what was it?
How do i get inside to check the fan?

could just be that u left it on. Your not suppose to leave the fans on when u turn the car off.

its ur blower motor..mine does it 2. Its under the dash near the passangerside kicker pannel. Im plannin on rippin mine out, givin her a few shots of WD 40, and see where it goes. If that doesnt work, ive been quoted $120 for a new one from a local parts shop. So im guessin probably $100 or so for u.
My fan started making a ticking kinda sound too. I figure its just from it being so old that its making some noise from time to time. No big deal, its just sort of annoying.

I might actually rip into it today and check it out, so I'll post pics if I figure out anything. wink.gif

ok so i got fed up with the noise today- took my glove box out and took the fan out. Apparently i had a mouse or something that made a nest in there- yes i know disgusting i flipped out for 20 min. gross. BUT i cleaned it all out and put it back together and it works find now. If anyone needs help getting the fan/motor out just ask and i can take some pics- its an easy job but u have to be upsideown for a lot of it and the screws are a pain in the ass to get to

Nice work Tina. As you may have assumed, I got too lazy the other day and didn't tear mine apart or anything. Although the next day it stopped making the sound, so whatever. wink.gif

Don't be too grossed out though, I think think thats why mine makes a wierd noise also. I had my car sitting for a few days once and when I came home and started it up my fan ate something and blew brown dust everywhere in my car....it made such a mess. But it was probably the same thing, just I destroyed all the evidence. biggrin.gif

I had a mouse in mine too! good thing i didnt see the mouse i woulda flipped!! smile.gif ..But i just reached through the little holes that are in that white box that covers the fan, and just kept digging out more junk until i didnt feel anything anymore.
