This story may be a little mixed up because of the pain killers I'm on right now.

So.. saturday night/sunday morning around 1 am I start to get an ear ache. So I figure it's a small ear infection.. so I take a couple of ibuprofen and go to bed thinking I can get some ear drops or something later on Sunday. I wake up at 3 in immense pain from my ear.. take more ibuprofen.. then go back to sleep. Wake up at 6.. worse pain than before. Take myself to the hospital. After about an hour and a half of waiting (saturday night in ER).. I'm in crazy amounts of pain. Blood is starting to gush out of my ear at this point.

Well ok I get in.. and the doctor says severe ear infection, large rupture in your eardrum. He sends me home with tons of medicine. I take some codone and pass out for the night.

Right now I have a patch over my ear to help stop the blood/puss from gushing out of my ear. It hurts BAD.. but the pain killers help me cope by taking me to a happy place. They are also making me sick too but thats a different story.

The tear is apparently so large that I may require surgery if it does not heal in 10 days.. which I'm hoping it will. This is worse case scenario. I went to my regular doctor today he seems to think it will.

I don't think I have ever been in this amount of pain. It is even worse than my kidney stones were. I'm pretty much totally deaf in my left ear. Ringing, buzzing.. sizzling. It's lovely. And when I like sneeze or something all this sh-t just comes gushing out.

I colored out my face.. because.. as you can imagine.. I've been bed riddin for the past few days and I'm not a pleasant sight.

Just thought I'd share my experience.

I busted both ear drums once. I vommitted so suddenly and hard that the pressure busted them from the inside out. I unstand the pain that is. I can't ride spin rides or most things anymore because I get dizzy easily. It's getting better though.

Dang you have way to many problems for you age. blood gushing out of your ear, damn. glad to hear your dr. thinks it will heal though.

but dang, that sux get well soon, hope its clears up.

Thank you creis. I know, I have more health problems than my mom. I'll probably die at a young age or something.

I could list soooo many things I have wrong with me atm. I guess it's genetic from my fathers side.

Gosh, I can't even imagine what it would be like on both ear. CRAZY pain. Yeah the dizzy thing is terrible. I need to sit or lay and not go anywhere or else I feel terrible. ESPECIALLY taking the pain killers.. like Codone.

going deaf isnt as bad as u think !
im currently losing my hearing right now, slowly ringing itself out - doesnt really bother me tho. i got hearing tested and im at 75% hearing. im so im concidered hard of hearing at 15% hearing lost and i become deaf at 10% hearing... i still have tons of room !

My hearing is better than ever. It is sensitive however. I don't know if that's because I've always been careful, or what. I think going permiately deff would really suck, but I'm a big musican. I wouldn't worry about it untill the doctors tell you to. Relax, and be happy.

You're a lemon. I'd take yourself back to the dealship and trade in for a different one. no, ruptured ear drums are no fun. My friend was cleaning his ear out with a Q-tip and the phone rang, so he picked it up, not realizing he had a q-tip in his ear and BAM...silence.

ouch taht sucks a few years back was out tubing with some buddies... fell off and hit the water wrong... at first i though i just got some water in my ear but then after like an hour it hurt like no other... gave me a really bad ear infection too since the rupture was filled with nasty river water... good luck gettin better

oh man that really sucks. I hope ya get better soon, we need more pics of you on the women topic lol. anywho we all hope you feel better, i've never done that 2 my ear but i've been robbed and had 3 ribs broken, my arm broken in 2 places and stabbed through my hand, oh I also fell onto a grill with both arms, fell into a ditch in the Smokey Mountains going down a huge hill on my bike (when i was 8) got a HUGE splinter under my finger nail all the way past the cuticle. Thats just to name a few :-p

ow..that sounds pretty painful. The same thing happened to my best friend when he was a kid..minus the blood. His parents didnt get it treated cuz they thought he was faking it 2 get out of school. Hez now lost 67% of his hearing in his right ear because of it. Good thing you got yours checked out when you did.

sorry to hear (bad pun intended!!) about your ear jen. i've had my share of problems in that departement. chronic infections, tubes, drainage, surgery...i know ear pain is no funkin' fun. hang tough kid!

aww feel better! iknow once i had a qtip in my ear and went to brush hair out of my face and BAM slammed the qtip in my ear! that hurt so bad i can only imagine the pain ur in! :-(

I'm better. I finally went back to work on Wednesday. But I'm still deaf in that ear.. which sucks when you work with kids.
