Not really, you can just rin the oil line without the water lines but i am sure the turbo will not last as long as it would with the water lines helping to cool it down. Why would you want to run without the water lines?

i say it wouldnt last a day. its kind of like running your motor without coolant.

There are many aftermarket turbos that do not use water cooled technology. As long as you use a turbo timer and at least 2 minutes after hard runs, you shouldn't have that big of a problem. I don't know of any reason that the ct-26 needs water cooled any more than these other turbos. That said, I wouldn't own a turbo without it being water cooled....unless it was a porsche (which only recently went to water cooled turbos)....

IMO the turbo in question wont last without being water cooled.
weather its a week, a day or a month, or 5 yrs, i think we'll all agree that toyota designed the turbo with water cooling in there for a reason, and it stands to reason that the longevity of the turbo will be greatly comprimized without it.
