I was thinking of wiring some red neons in my car at the footwells, in the back, possibly cut my side rear panel and place some neons in there and put a sheet of plexy glass over it to kinda give the car the whole red effect that my interior would have. I was thinking of making a fiberglass panel to put next to my cig lighter with toggle switches on them to turn them on and off. Does anyone think this would be kinda cool? Just curious what everyone else is thinking. I might just stay simple and do the footwells and maybe a bar or two in the back on the floor or somefin. ALL OPINIONS NEEDED!
Neon glows?! - 6G Celicas Forums
i think the footwells look cool....just remember dont over do it
Absolutly, dont over do it. I have the blue neon wire that is along side the doors and one bar up top by the sunroof. It gives the whole car a blue look and is not to much, i dont think...... it is hooked up to a blue led switch up by my clock. pics on profile....
I think the footwells look cool too, as long as you can't see the actual bulb and you only see the glow. And make sure not to drive with the neons on, or you may end up like me and get a $171 ticket for them.
New Toyota project coming soon...
your pics are a little blurry sapperk but still...looks good
Well what I was planning on doing is do a cut out design on my rear side panels. Then install a neon bar inside on the side of the decal so you can't see the bulb...same with the footwells. I don't wanna be able to see the bulb but I just want it for the nice glow so the whole interior illuminates red.
Not to make you turn away from your already great idea, but I've also seen the glows you can put in that only light up when your car shakes, aka bass. I don't know if you have a subwoofer or not but it makes the neons all that much hotter.
those cost like 5-10 dollars at walmart

Coomer how in the Hell did you get a ticket for the interior neons being on? now I can understand if they were the underbody ones but not inside your car while you were driving. Im also going to be doing this soon.

that a good question i assumed he meant the underbody neons but if he meant interior neons thats crap if you get a ticket for them
police can pull crap out of their ass and say how its a distraction to other drivers......i got a ticket for it too, but it was only $10, lol. >

I like the neon glow on the interior and on the exterior. I'm doin all my interior with black lights and gonna try to find purple that will match the outside. As far as gettin a ticket for interior lights, i think it's a load of crap! I know here in kansas that if the bulbs are showing then you can get ticketed but just for the glow then nothing can be done. I would seriously fight that BS charge if it happened to me.

this is what i did for my front passenger and back footwells.....i put blacklights underneath the glove compartment and under the front seats and bought clear floormats. they soaked up the rays from the blacklight and glow this bluish purple. i wanted to do this cuz it lit up only the mats and not the whole footwell. also if u have white shoes theyll glow, also chicks dig it cuz their nail polish glow too >
>
edit: i also have regular blue neons on hte side door pockets and dome light which match the color of the mats when they are glowing

imo i think all neons are gay
they look good as long as the colors complement each other and its not over done
Coomer if you haven't forgotten this thread can you give us more detail on why you were booked? - Is it because they were the same colour as police lights or something?
I always get eyeballed by cops when I have my dash lights on - Because from other cars you can see into our celicas really easily.
Soo - I only turn them on why I am in race mode - Suprising how many more people rev it up when they are switched on.

if you wanna get technical your a ricer as well 96cel_john....we all drive an import which makes us all ricers and there is nothing "rice" about neons

Now now now children, no fighting allowed. LoL I was just thinking it would be unique to do somefin different by making a design inside my car on the rear panels and put neons on the sides so you just see it illuminate and ****. I'm a neon type of person anyways, I like the radical colors. The thing I don't want though, is someone thinking I'm a total rice patty like some richy kids with all looks and no balls. I have seen it done on Hondas, Dodges, Chevy, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissans, Mazdas, and yes even Toyotas. Doesn't matter what you drive, you can rice out anything. I find the whole neon thing to be more comferting cuz its like my room >
> Since I spend so much time in my car, I figured I could make it like the most comfertable place I know LoL. And I dun think I would get the bass neons, 1) Don't have my JL amp/subs yet 2) I don't wanna have a sezier while zippin down the road. Thanks for all the input though!!!
hey wut ever happened to those blue led light we could get for are celicas because the inside of mine is a little to dark at night for me.
here in louisiana if it can be seen from the outside of ur car (glow) than it's against the law, just like ur radio if it can be heard outside ur car it's against the law. That's how our laws r set, damn laws. But i get confused 'cause i have friends that got away w/ the white leds 'cause they are not a color of any emergency vehicle. red/blue cops, orange/ construction,
