Stupid Highschool Kids!!! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #33843 80 posts Started by dustinkemp
Hey guys there was a topic started in OT about setero systems and everyone was talking about it and someoen asked who would wanna ride around with there stereo cranked up at 3 am and wake everyone up. Well the response came back the "highschool kids" are the ones doing this and that they have crappy cars and crappy systems. So I put on there that not all kids do that and i take great pride in my car and my stereo. Then someone put on there that highschool kisds are dumb and that what we think is cool really isnt and that when we get old were going to look back and see how dumb we really are. Well i wasnt going to unveal this until i got my car done and take some updated pictures of my car but since this came about i think i should show everyone my "crappy" and "unbalanced" system!

Very nice set up, I once had the oversized speakers. then I found myself always asking what did you say ? huh? what?. I have moved on lol I need my hearing.

That system must thump big time! thumbsup.gif enjoy it.

I will return one day.
Nice system. Im a highschooler, and have what I think is a clean system install.

FlickR2011 Subaru WRX and 1997 3sgte Celica
i used 2 have a system, they got old, quick... but nice setup

To live, is to sufferTo survive, thats to find meaning, in the suffering....
haha...wow. You are taking this WAAAAAAAAAAY too personal. Nobody ever said that "highschoolers" meant you and only you. I didnt realize you wouldnt be able to use common sense and exclude yourself from the groups. Like i said in the OT, I AM ALSO IN HIGHSCHOOL, and there are alot of people at my school with crappy systems..that doesnt mean EVERYONE has a crappy system, but a majority of them do. oh and nice system.

I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club!
how can a sound system get old??
ive always loved them because it just suonds soo much better imo
nice set up, i cant wait untill i swap out my cheap 12" subs for a type r 10" still using my 1000 watt amp

yea..i resent that highschool kid remark. When i was in highschool, i had the oem 6 speaker package, my blaupunkt Bahama's deck, started off with a bass tube, then upgraded to a 10" Pioneer woofer, 600 watt amp. I had the best system at my school. second best was my friend Hanni's 2 12" old MTX woofers that were really distorted.
screw highschoolers...that's why i skipped.
as i am no longer in highschool , i still have the respect for people to take the time and do things right , i remember kids at my that used to think that there stuff so great with sub boxes that were not even carpeted or subs is all they had ,like have 4 15s and 2500 watts but still having stock highs , i even met one guy that ran his amps off the power to the running lights on his car i myself have built many custom boxs many with fiberglass , i may not have had the best equipment to with but i allways made sure it looked decent , anyways so many people belive thats only the equipment that makes a system good 90 percent of it is the install ,, i have made junk sound damn good , i like seeing peopel that take the time to do thinks right ,, nice job
Wow. This thread makes me laugh. Who cares?
I stand by my original statement about highschoolers being dumb. I will however add to that that not all are as dumb. There's just things you don't know. It doesn't mean that their all stupid, they're just different I guess. A quality radio and sound is something I can appreciate. I just don't like them really loud. Really loud seems to be the cool thing for highschool kids, and early 20 somethings that have no life and live with their parents. Dang, I'm getting mean. I'm usually not a mean person. I don't want high school kids to take offence to what I said, just take it as advice. Becare with the things you do, cause you can't take them back.

BTW, when I was in high school, I didn't have a radio in my car. I took it out to shave weight. I took everything out to shave weight, and I had a pretty fast little car. I don't think it was real dumb to do that, but the girls sertainly thought it was stupid.

I had a 92 Geo Storm GSi with the 1.8 DOHC Isuzu motor. I bought it totalled and rebuilt it. I Redid the motor and body. It had a few preformance bolt ons. Header, intake, exhaust, flywheel, clutch, pistons, port/polish. Fast, and loud. No interior, so no sound cancelling stuff. I'm not sure what the hp was, but it was pretty dang fast. It would eat my Celica alive.

I hope you're not talking about just subs.

I don't understand how people can install huge subs in their car. There's so much more to music than just BUMP BUMP BUZZZZZZ. And then you have the rattling body parts, loss of trunk space, etc. You could get a component system that fits in our stock speaker installations that sounds AMAZING for way less money.

thanks for the imput everone....im sorry i sounded so mean i just wanted to make this point that not all kids have crap in their cars and we do know a thing or two about some things. And again sorry if i offended ne one...just wanted to make a point

Dustin
wait til you get to college and need that trunk space to move biggrin.gif And then when you run out of money to eat, you think "damn..why'd I spend $ on this car"

I want my windows tinted and some speakers, but I have to pay the rent first. It'd be nice to be back in HS with money to throw around.

I remember back in high school all I cared about was having a nice "system" when alot of guys thought it meant just huge woofers. rolleyes.gif I started out with just a 10", and now theres two 8" subs in the doors and 4" components to match. It sounds really clean and balanced.....and very loud.

It actually took me until THIS WEEK when i installed Siruis radio in my car to realize that the reason my setup hasn't thumped as much as i always hoped was because theres actually a seperate processor for "Super High-Definition Bass Output" settings on my headunit that literally makes the bass 2-3 times as loud as it used to sound....and of course this is after 3 years of owning it and moving beyond that bass-obsessed stage in my life. wink.gif Oh well.....fear my system, kiddies.

Ok I just have one question for all the highschool kids with nice systems:
yeah you installed them yourself - good job. But who paid for them?

I'm sure many of you got jobs or mowed lawns or whatever and paid for your own systems and cars to put them in. To those kids I say good job. But the kids I absolutley cannot stand are the ones who brag on what their mommy and daddy bought them. The rich overpriviledged kids who have never worked and are always asking mommy and daddy for a handout. Those cars and systems are not yours - they belong to your parents.

I'm not necessarily talking about anyone on here so know one get offended or anything. It's just that in the year and a half since I started my car club I've seen so many spoiled kids talking about how fast their cars are and great their system is. I see them get $2500+ rims or engine swaps etc. But yet their parents pay for everything "so that they can concentrate on their studies" or some other BS. One kid even complained about his "crappy" hand-me-down 2 year old IS300 that his parents gave him instead of the Camaro he wanted. Then he had the nerve to ask if he could join our Toyota club though he'd rather be in the local domestic club. I just walked away.

Sorry to all. I just had to vent.

Oh I know alll about that. Area I live in is full of rich people (or people who think they're rich but are actually up to their eyes in debt). So many spoiled kids etc then the few of us who had to do stuff ourselves. This guy at my high school was so full of himself and how he had a new harley and a new Tacoma and a new this and new that and a new Mustang for the weekends and $10k in stereo stuff in his truck etc. Well his parents were in debt buying all this stuff for him and he never worked a day in his life.

Another guy was huge into drugs, wrecked his dad's BMW our sophomore year so his dad buys him a Cobra Mustang. Well this same guy lost his Mustang when he was drunk and on coke and plowed into my first Celica in an intersection. Guess what he got after he got out of jail: a Bullitt Mustang, compliments of his dad again. Kid never has had a job, just gets high all the time and drives free nice cars.

The whole damn town is like that and I can't wait to get away once I'm ASE certified.

I get irritated at these rich kids. My parent's have a lot of money, and I'm lucky for it. They're paying for all the college that my scolarships aren't covering, as well as my food and what not. They're nice to me. They even allow me to me obsesive over my car, fixing everything that ever breaks. This is mostly my mom, of course. I bought my Celica, and I bought my other cars that I have. Except the 67 Mustang my dad gave me, hand me down project. This is my junior year in college and it's the first year I can remember not having a job. I've had a job since I was able to push a broom. I worked in my dad's shop forever. It kinda sucked growing up, because all my friends had parents with money that bought them things, and my parents were/are pretty stingy sometimes. They're looser with their money than they ever have been with me now though. I need their help more than now, so it's a good thing they're nice. My mom spoils my little brother. I get mad at him, but I should feel sorry for him. He just blew up his 2nd car from running too hard and not taking care of it. This is car #4 on the totalled list for him. And now mom is talking about buying a new car for him. He's 19 years old, and has no sence of money or resposibility. It's easy to get mad at these people, but trueth is, they'll never make anything of themselves, and that's sad. It's mostly the parent's fault the kids end up like they do, but not completely.

yea 1 more thing...we were all in highschool @ some point. just dont act like an arrogant b!tch.
i agree with everone about the rich kids, i see it all the time around here too. but i will admit that my parents did buy me the car (first car) but it wasnt expensive or anything, but all the stuff i have on my car i bought for myself and im glad i have those bragging rights around town because there is that little sence of pride you get for doing your own work and being respected for it,

Dustin
it went from highschool kids not having nice cars, to rich spoiled kids geting all that they want, yea it pisses us off, but they can never have cars as cool as us if they cant do any custom work for themself, and i have my own way of telling if it is really your own car, i you have ever been under it in 15 degree weather trying to fix it changing a starter or something, or if you have been inside your own engine then its your car if you know how to build one because you have takin it apart and back together its yours

I agree with what you are saying. The thing is my family is living "comfortably" I guess. They haven't put a dime into my car though. They said it teaches me responsibility and how to be hunble having to work for everything. I am spoiled in the fact that whatever scholarships doesn't cover, they will pay for the remainder of my college for the four years.... So I guess everything just had trade offs.
I agree w/ you guys... I guess this car is kinda half mine. Me and my mom split the cost, but i have been doing all the work on it. (although her sowing skills/ insights have come in handy. My mom also offered to pay for whatever scholorships dont, but we'r gonna split that too... So pretty much everything i get is "half-mine"...
