I've recently been seeing alot of commercials for this car. Looks fairly interesting, and at least worth a test drive...or two.

See for yourself, and respond.

The new GTi is getting very good writeups in Europe. Evo preferred it to the new Focus ST. Just.

I've not driven one yet.

I have a feeling this car is going to be a hit...w/200hp and dsg...people are going to like this baby :thumbs up: I wonder how much it weighs??

Looks nice fron the front, but looks to basic or simple from the rear, and too chubby.

3308 for manual (59-41 split F/R), 3352 for auto (60/40). pretty heavy for a 2-door hatch, but with 200hp and 207 ft-lbs of torque, whos to complain? smile.gif never really liked hatches like that. however, newer cars with that power stock is tempting.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
i hate it compared to last generation. To this day i would love a R32.

i don't know if they did it with this car .. but VW has always put down what the car makes at the wheels not a the crank ..

but either way still a nice starting point ..

What? That doesn't make much sense, especially if you look at horsepower figures and track times. The only car company I know of that ever did WHP numbers is dodge and the only production car out there right now that has WHP numbers instead of crank HP numbers listed is the SRT-4.

Not as far as I'm aware they haven't.

Look at it this way. 2 litre light pressure turbo. Excellent response, good low end torque and handles nicely.

It's a hot hatch, not a supercar.

I have seen and driven it. Not Impressed. GT4 is twice the size and 50 bhp more even if its 10 yrs older.

Stock gt-4? and the r32 is RWD i believe, and they sell it in the states.

My point is, having such a variety of cars (large cars) in the US, I would not expect americans to really even bother with such a car. I have a cousin who is a car dealer and is crazy about VW Golfs so I can see why some people like them. But he sells mostly used toyotas in his dealership so....

4wd.

Well, actually FWD until it decides the front wheels have lost grip and shuffles power backwards. Which is usually half a second after you've had to get out of the throttle to sort the understeer out.

It's also very very heavy.
