Front Lip Idea - Calling the Dogmaster - 6G Celicas Forums

Take a look at this car:

I LOVE this car. As you might have noticed, it has a lot of features similar to mine except the front lip. The problem that I have with the front lip is that it doesn't flow well with the rest of the kit. My idea is to change the side part of the front lip just a bit to have a ridge like the rear OEM extensions and cut out that part that is square. Doggy, will you do it? Anyone else interested?

I do like the fact that the lip does not hang down much further than the stock bumper and would like to retain that feature.

The bottom is PERFECT.

The top part of the side is what I really dislike. I think that area that squares off on the side really stands out from the smooth lines of the car. What I have in mind is to redo that portion so that its shaped the same as the OEM rear extension with the slight ridge in the middle. On this picture here, I blacked out the part that I would eliminate. Also, I have drawn a blue line where I think the top of the skirt should be and a red line where the ridge should be. Perhaps you could try a photoshop, Romas?

i always wanted that c-one lip. have you found a place that has a good price on them, jay? i think it looks fine unmodified.

Two that I know of: bulletproofautomotive.com you can get the real thing. Fensport has a knockoff. With shipping to the U.S., either option is going to be at least $350. Perhaps you will want a nice priced Doggy look-a-like with the bad parts eliminated???? biggrin.gif

Here is some further inspiration with the OEM front splitters on Manny's car:

The big difference is that these are squared off at the top and I would like to see the top come down to gradually blend into the front part of the lip.

that looks awesome, nice chop doggy. in my opinion though, not too drastically different than the oem splitters. only difference is the ridge and it would wrap around the front a bit more.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
i think the square on the sides on top is what makes it different however since u want it to slope down, photoshop it to slope down where the bumper line is (where the bumper is connected to the car) so it basically keeps the flat top then slopes to how u want it, i think that would look a lot better than sloping the entire corner
That is VERY close Romas and looks GREAT! Two other minor changes are in order. First, I think the top of the skirt (on the side of the car) should hug the car like the rear extensions rather than protruding out. IMO, the top ridge makes the lip look close to the Blitz front end which is really not my style. Second, I would like to see the more subtle ridge that the rear extension has right in the middle.

Keeping in mind that I am REALLY bad at photoshop, this picture is pretty close to what I have in mind:

yes that does look much better, i didnt like the large ridge at the top edge. the smaller ridge does match the sideskirts and rear splitters though perfectly.

If it was a slightly better photoshop, I think it would sell like hotcakes to the GT4 guys. The options we have for lips / front ends are very limited, and IMO, not that great.

No offense, but did you read this thread?

Skirts are TRD discontinued, now made by DCW.
"back lip" are OEM rear extensions
"front lip" is CUSTOM concept drawing, not in production....yet.
