i guess i never even though of hooking the speakers up like that to make it 2ohms, hmm maybe when i switch my 12"s over to 10"s i should also switch amps hmmmmm. but i have always liked those head units, i myself have a dual head unit with a 2 stage face, its pretty cool and 55Wx4
55Wx4 PMPO wink.gif hehe

With any speakers in pairs, you can wire them up in parallel or series to double or halve the resistance.

Makes a big difference in the way things sound...

correct.

For maximal bling, get a set of the Alpine V12 (last year's model) monoblock and 4ch amp wink.gif hehe

any v12 model is good? would i be better to got with an 800 watt rms over 500 watt .. like is there a point where its too high? i.e. too much power to the subs
All in all, I wouldn't really cheap out buying stuff on ebay...( ESPECIALLY FROM CANADA) nah nah... just jokes about the Canada. Love that maple syrup. But if your looking for quality, buy it brand new... buying subs off ebay is fine but buying an amp... sketchy. I just bought one, and when it came in, it was DOA. WASTED money buying it and installing it. Brand NEW!!! or just don't bid on the ones i am... LOL biggrin.gif
dont put too much power to the subs they can break

so how should i wire my amp now it has 2 outputs for the sub, and it has 2 settings, 1 for mono and one for 2 channel, its a sony 1000W amp if you know anything abou it that would help
depends on your box. If its a dual box with 1 input then wire the amp bridged mono style. But if you got 2 separate boxes with 2 separate inputs then go 2 chan style. Thats how mine is set up!!! Which is stupid b/c i got no trunk space now.

lol .. great response ... i think im jus gonna stick wit alpine or audiobahn ones
Those to brands aren't much better, to be honest tongue.gif

Try something different, something not so, err, American.

I'm a great fan of MB Quart and Hertz stuff. Affordable, and for the money, damn to they sh!t on Alpine and Audiobahn.

depending on his budget though. tongue.gif Alpine should be fine for what your looking for. and tangcla, running 2 4ohm subs to a 2ohm load is parallel.. wink.gif
someone on here said that watch out for mb quart fakes on ebay. I was just wondering how you can tell... do you think this seller is ... mb quart subs .

The only reason im lookin on ebay because its rare to have an mb quart dealer near me. And when they do carry it (well when they carry anything) its over priced like crazy.
hard to say... I suppose it's like all counterfeit stuff, it's fake only when you can tell it's fake laugh.gif

so the ifinity subs i got on ebay ended up being a piece of crap ... so the guy gave me my money back.

So now im back to square one in which i need to find a sub. I'm thinkin instead of goin the whole route of 2 10's and havin to find space in my trunk and the wiring ..etc. etc. .. all that troublee ... i might jus go wit 1 12" sub.

I kinda like the setup eliaz has .. .simple and less money than a fiberglass enclosure like in this pic :

So now i was looking into a powerful 12" sub cuz i dont wanna get some crappy one now jus to replace it later ... i found the Audiobahn ALUM12N but the only thing thats messing wit me is it says it has a 3 ohm and 6 ohm operation. lol .. what the hell is going on .. im so used to 2 ohm and 4 ohm .. now they have to throw in these numbers. does this mean i need a really expensive and really powerful amp? rolleyes.gif

hmm, you guys don't have a rear strut so it makes things soo much easier :\

A single 12 will give you deeper bass but slightly less punchy. Having said that, going a sealed box will give you a LOT more punch! All comes down to the enclosure.
