I do not have easy access to a digital camera. I purchased just the engine and am now sourcing parts it is a two wire conector lables air box. There is not an afm so it is probably an air temp sensor just wanted to know if anyone knew off the top of their head thanks lance

I can take a better pic if required but...

Look just above the filter, between the red cable and the loom harness and you'll see a black sensor. This plugs into the standard airbox. Is this teh one you mean?

Yes that looks like the plug I am talking about; what is the sensor for and what is it called? I have a few other plugs that need a home. If I can track down a digital camera I will take pics. I also need to know where some other parts go, ex) charcol canister, coil, and ignitor, various vaccum lines. Thank you for your help Lance

its called IAS, or Intake Air Sensor. it detects teh temp of the air going into your turbo, and uses that value to determine which compansation map the ecu uses.

This may be a stupid question but is this sensor only found on turbo models? Or is this only found on the 3rd gen engine? thanks lance

IATs are found on all cars but in that particular form... it's on MAP sensored cars...
And... an IAT is an IAT... I don't think there is a lot of variation between them... so long as you match up the wires.
