I've heard of people molding lips and skirts etc. I was just wondering what y'all used, bondo,....?
My second question is about the heat gun I know y'all use it to heat side skirts to fit better I was just wondering where y'all bought them?

molding lips, do you mean making a lip or making a mold of an already maid lip, what you would use is fiberglass to begin with, then bondo to make the surface perfectly smooth. with a lot of sanding

Dont know about a heat gun, I think that it woudl nto work on a fiberglass peace but chances are if it did work it would not make much differance, because if the peace is off or not fitting right your gana need to fix it with more then just bending it to conform.

to mold a bumper to fenders or mold a lip to a bumper
i would start with bolting/screwing it inplace then laying a layer of fiberglass over the lip/bumper or bumper/fender joint let dry then bondo smooth

heat gun, you can buy at sears, home depot, lowes or even use a hair drier

fiberglass doesn';t flex with heat you need to use fiberglass resin and then bondo. heat gun works well on urethane kits but since those are expensive and almost nonexistant for the 6gc.

fiberglass does flex with heat....i've done it myself

and urethane..it flexes on its own...no heat needed just like a stock bumper

Fiberglass molds with heat.. well.. basicaly what your doing is melting the glass.. and reforming it.. allthough it does weakin it, so you must be carful when doing it.

This is how i got my cheap ass ****ty skirts to fit, well i would say pretty damn nicly.. took a lot of heating up and twisiting and such..
As for where i got the gun.. I "borrowed" it from work.. its one of those high temp shrink wrap guns..

Yup it works wonders, if it wasn't for heat gun i wouldn't have my car lookin the way it is, o and don't hold it on one spot to long it will burn.

Sounds good. But what about molding do I just use bondo. I've used it before but just as a filler. Does anybody know anything about dyno-glass my uncles told me about it but still haven't had a chance to work with it.
