So who's fast? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #32246 38 posts Started by SlowCelica94
It's been a long while since I've been on this site, but I browsing thru the other day and have noticed a lot of guys with swaps and boosted 5s. It's pretty cool to see the 6gc community continuing to excel. But what I'd like to see is some of you 3S or 5ST guys post up your dyno numbers and quarter mile times. I wanna see if anyone here can take my 7 biggrin.gif

Where are the numbers for the "7"? What does it run in the 1/4 mile? There is a 4th gen celica here in New Mexico that has 500+ hp on a 3sgte. I dont think it gets very good traction though. He had pics of it and dyno sheets on www.4gcelica.net. It's been a couple years since I have been to that site.
jgreening, mac, lagos, any numbers outta you guys?

jgreening and lagos are both running nice strong 3SGTE setups, but macavely has a mostly stock GT....why the reference? confused.gif

Mac has been around for a while, so have the other 2, maybe he members them from days gone by.

Also, doesnt a stock rx7 with the rotory put close to 200 or is it 250bhp down? i just cant get over the power generated by the rotory motor with it being only a 1.3L

technically ..... 13b's aren't 1.3 liters.... by sport compact car's (the magazine) definition - they are really a 2.6 biggrin.gif .... but alot of the rx-7 crowd argues otherwise

I know that dude, I've been around for just as long as Mac....I was just confused why he was asking what Mac's numbers were when he's almost bone stock. wink.gif

I thought mac had boosted 5S. I must be wrong, my bad.

As far as the 1.3 vs 2.6L, just trust me, it's 1.3. If you guys are interested, ill dig up some big post wars from rx7club for you guys to read.

silver- sorry man, dont remember you.

I heard lagos was running an bigger turbo. Chime in here Lagos, stop playing with your beautiful long black hair and get to your keyboard. tongue.gif

S4 FC have 180hp stock, and S5 FC has 200hp. The FD is around 250hp.

SCC magazine was on drugs, the 13b has two rotors, each one equivalent to .6 L......so both of them together equal 1.3L, and by just looking at a 13b, the wankel is friggin small:P. my 86 Base N/A, ran a 15.4 with 136rwhp lol!! I miss my 7 every day:(frown.gif

Art's running a stock CT26, Jay has a big-ass turbo on his car now though and has dynoed it...I think.

Not dynoed yet. BTW, my turbo is considered small. It will hit 200 ft/lbs of torque at 2800rpms but still will make 300whp+ I think I will be at about 280whp at 16-17psi in a basically BPU application. If you want to know who is making big power, take a look at Tufy's new set-up, Nik's, and Mr. E's.

Those are some crazy awsome set-ups but everything is a trade-off. You can't have huge power without considerable lag. Also, with power over 300hp on a 4cyl import, price and unreliability increase exponentially. Once you are over 225 ft/lbs of torque, traction WILL be an issue in a FWD car anyway.

One thing I have learned through the experience of this build is that you should ask yourself "How am I going to use this power?" The answer might be spirited street driving, autocross, drag strip, etc. The answer to that question will greatly help you make good decisions in the build process.

You're probably thinking of Manny (pressure2). He's got a pretty nice setup now, but I believe he's going 3SGTE.

What kinda turbo did you update to?

I'd def like to run you. I was hoping there'd be a 3S swapped celi near my area, but this even better. I may have to come to one of the near by meets if your planning to attend.

GT28RS

Come to the national 6gc meet at the tail of the dragon in May. I am planning on going. As for "running me", I haven't taken her to the track yet and doubt that I will. This is a street car and I don't street race except for some safe stop light to stop light action where no traffic laws are broken.
