Painting Stock Sideskirts - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #32137 5 posts Started by Scott
My car has those flat black plastic sideskirts that don't match the body. Can these be painted the same color as the car by a bodyshop, or do I need new sideskirts if I want to change their color? Does anyone on here have experience with how the paint turns out, or approximate cost to have it done?

Thanks
Scott
Yes it can be done. Just as long as you take it to a good shop. My boyfriends cousin had a WRX and he got the black skirts painted to match the body color. Not sure about how much it'll cost, but it shouldn't cost you more than $250?
Yes they can. Lil Lissa did it on her convertible. I put hatchback sides on my vert, and they look alot better then the stock ones.

I agree that hatchback or JDM sides look way better than the stock ones, but im not willing to pay to buy new sideskirts, so i'm just going for color match. I'm buying SS-III splitters soon and am going to see if the body shop can paint the skirts at the same time they paint the splitters.
hey madmods.... what u think ur doin takin my pics?! tongue.gif

yep it can be done..and it basically looks exactly same as my splitters look painted... since the stock sides have some texture to them as it is.. they shaved it as best they could but you can still see it a bit if you're looking really closely... but it still looks awesome and simple.. i didn't wanna wait a long time to wait for the sides above^^ so i stuck with these and i think it looks juusssttt fine smile.gif
