I am purchasing a st185 RC 3SGTE that I am going to pick up in Jan., Basically what can I do to reach 350hp with under $2,000?

I already have a upgraded fuel system, boost controller, and am about to purchase a Greddy E-manage ULTIMATE, I plan on using everything that is on car as I can on my new setup.
I have already recieved another GT32 turbo that I plan on using on the 3S

So basically what can I do to get around 350HP and is my budget high enough to do so?

here is a list on my engines mods. I know ALOT of the parts I won't be able to use but what do i need to reach my goal?

What does it dyno at now? With a list of parts like that, you've got to have some higher hp numbers. 350hp is really up there. $2000 to invest really won't get you much of any thing. Maybe a nitrous kit will help. If you've got 250hp now, just add a 100 shot of nitrous. Nitruos is not really ever a good idea by the way.

cams would be a good start.

all of this will be on the car , I don't know which turbo manifold I am going to go with probably a equal lenght stainless steel manifold to use with GT32-this is not included in my $2000 budget

I would return the SAFC and the e-manage and get a real EMS for starters. I would recommend either a Hydra Nemesis or a AEM as they both ofter plug and play solutions. Then, buy some HKS 264 cams and you should be very close to your goal. That turbo is a TERRIFIC turbo for the 3S but it may have difficulty reaching 350 on pump gas. I would imagine that you will be in the 320-340 range with cams on a good tune (not a crappy black box tune) which will be more than you will ever need in FWD street car - trust me.

I agree 100% about the stand alone.

A Wolfkatz fuel rail would be a good investment.

I'd recommend at least 700cc injectors.

well the way i see it your damn close to 350 fwhp as i see it now, 18 psi on a gt32 you should put out 350fwhp. you will be pushing the safety of your motor though.

max horsepower on a gt32 is 420hp.

the the e-manage ultimate support partial throttle tuning?

also i see no need for you to go full standalone, unless your going to be fully tunning the ign, theres nothing the e-manage cannot do, unless it dosnt do partial tunning.

but if youve got 2grand laying around i would, get a 5s block, build it, and slap the 3s head on it.

just saw that this is a st185, so AWD power loss, i was trying to figure out why your guys numbers were so low.

anyways i still stick with most of my statement. no need for cams or a larger turbo.

Also as far as going full standalone- I don't have the cash YET, the AEM EMS is around $1.8-2k and that is all I want to spend for right now.

Basically what I am doing is gathering all parts And new gaskets to have the engine ready, then getting axles and having a tranny built during spring after having the engine ready to go in
Then I am going to install the engine next summer, til then the E-manage ULTIMATE is going to run my 7AFTE, and then the 3SGTE after that, then later I will get a standalone when I have enough cash

So can I even reach the power figures I want on the E-manageULTIMATE+what I have +$2k ?
I know doing 264 cams($???)
fuel rail($???)
RC 750cc injectors($120)
What else can I do?

You can get yourself better brakes.

cams imo are a most needed piece inorder to reach 350 as well as the upgraded turbo which you seam to already have down....

you could run the greddy ultimate i think you should be fine but as with always you can only "trick" so much and the standalone will benefit you more (i can see your only using it as a temp so its not that big)

cam gears along with the cams would be a good idea, maybe even consider valves and springs as well

i'm not sure on the 750cc injectors cause you'd have to do the math..instead of just jumping on a random number so i'd defenitly suggest the research into this and grab the appropriate size for your setup

you might even want to checkout KO RACING street brawler kit as well

350 Wheel or 350 Crank HP?

Either way, 350 is getting close to the limits of the stock pistons. I think 350 crank is obtainable on 550's and a raising rate regulator with the stock fuel rail. Just elminate the banjo's and you'll have plenty of flow.

No need for anything bigger then 3" for the exhaust.

Water injection would be a good option, though I dont know how water & NOS would play together.

I was on route to 400HP at the wheels with a stock (3rd gen) motor, with just forged pistons, IC, 20G kit and Link EMS.

im kind of confused here.... whats that mod list? is it stuff you have, or stuff you want to buy for the 2k budget? why do you have a 35shot of nitrous listed? did you already buy a 3sgte, or is that part of your budget too ?

Really honestly where's your research? A built 5S bottom end will greatly increase hp. It's been proven and works great. There is a place here in Houston that speciallizes in stroked 5S/3S motors and he has built many 500HP+ motors from this combo.
Do your research before you flame someone else's great idea.

My basic budget right now is $2000 NOT including the turbo manifold or E-manage
Other things NOT included are:
Power Enterprise timing belt
race engineering head gasket
Water pump and all gaskets were replaced by previous owner before purchase

And as for my $2000 so far I am looking into doing
264 cams
fuel rail
RC 750cc injectors(maybe Larger if needed)

What else can I do?

So I'm guessing 264's, but I didn't know if the 272 would flow more air intern allowing me to reach full boost sooner??

I used to have a 11-second SS and miss that power, and my three older brothers all have 454 powered street driven Chevy's and I need to give them some competition.

As for how to reach this goal should I just spend about $1000-1200 on P&P the head then get Cams-w/adj.gears, injectors, and HKS headgasket

Do you think that that will do it, or get close?
