im busy building a 7afte engine, but have a question (cant find the answer on this site):

Can i use the return line from my oilcooler to be the feedline of my Turbo, and make the return line from the turbo to my block?

If so, thats nice,


If not, why not????

Yeah Nik, that thread of yours is the reason for my question.
U did it that way, but isnt my way easier?

What are the downsides of my way making the oil feed and return?

well look at it this way the oil needs to move through that oil cooler and a constent rate to cool it down if you put it to a turbo you need to reduce the pressure so you dont break your turbo seals so why you just slowed down the flow of oil now that oil cooler is pretty useless

Ok, but u reduce the pressure by making a small way bigger.
So if i use big hoses does that solve the problem then?

i use the oil cooler not for a coolant reason but only because the things u use arent for sale in holland and im starting very soon with building so shipping is not an option.

Im not exactly getting your point, do i blow my turboseals with this set up at 0,5 bar???

to reduce pressure you need a a reducer it take a larger volume of oil and pushes in to through a small hole thus slowing down the pressure look for the post by pressure2 about reducing oil pressure.

oil pressure and boost bar or psi dont have anything to do with each other

There is not enouth pressure in return line after oil cooler - i tryed this by fitting oil pressure sensor there - and it practicly aint showed 1 bar at cold start...

The best place is there the Nik showed you.

AND guys, stop about this oil restrictor - if turbo is BAD or it is reworked BAD then seals WOUNT hold anyway. Turbos with seals NEED to be fully oiled, cuz seals DO float on oil, so if there is not enouth pressure (not enouth oil in turbo) seals will just grind on the axle.. this will reduce your Turbo life.. The Solution on this - as bigest as posible DRAIN line and as straight down without any curves.... This saved me from smoking on my Old celica, and even after 4000 miles (the guy who bought it done 4000 already) it still has no problems at all....
