For Christmas my parents are getting me a wheel and tire package (as long as I pay for tires). I've decided on these wheels with these tires.

I have a few questions for you guys if you don't mind answering them:
1. Is this offset going to look ok? If not, what size spacers will I need?
2. I want a rim that looks good, but improves handling. Do you think this is a good rim, or should I look at something else?
3. I plan on lowering the car in the spring when I put on the wheels and tires and I know that wide 18s might rub. There shouldn't be any clearance issuses on these 17s, right?
4. This is my first set of aftermarket rims. My dad says the tires will wear faster on 17s than my 14 inch stockers. Is this True? If so, how?

can't see the wheels but the tires i can see.

i have yoko es100 they're pretty damn nice. but i've heard great&cheap about kumho.

Well I cant see the wheels.
So its gonna be hard to answer your questions
but I'll attempt to answer them.

1) I'm not sure how wide they are
but depending on how wide the wheels are the
offset might change.
2) Can't really answer this one, cause I cant see it.
But if you want a good wheels from a performace's
perspective, you should get lightweight racing wheels.
That what I'll be getting. hmm rays
But beware they are expensive
3) You shouldnt have a problem with clearance, but it
all depends on how much of a drop you want.
4) Not sure about this one. I havent heard anything
about it. I know that tires are more expensive in size and in
lower profile.

You should search for other members ride and see if they've
a similar setup to what your getting and ask them.

2: i wanted the same balance as you, and i see you like 5spoke. i decided to get enkei rs-5's because they are lightweight for the money (actually just a bit cheaper than what your looking at) my 16's are 17.6 lbs and 17's are 19.8 lbs. and i personally think they are very clean looking wheels and complement the 6g's styling very well. i use to want the 2-piece look like you have there, but i think i would regret it later on, just my opinion. by the way, id look at 16 in as option, i cosidered 17's and 18's but decided to go with 16's because of better ride, and the road isnt always smooth you know wanted a little rim protection and i like the look of little more rubber (can fit 225/45 on 16's no problem). plus our puny st brakes look better in a 16 in wheel

3: well no personal experience here, but i wouldnt think so considering theres a large amount of lowered 6g's with 17*7.5 on this site without problems if your getting 215/40's.

4: not necessarily true, depends on tire tread wear rating, driving habits, etc. 17's do not inherently wear faster than 14's.

by the way, i see your located in PA. plan on swapping to stock during each winter? if not, id suggest looking for a nice set of all-season tires. i love my falken ziex ze-512's. they one consumer digest best buy award. ride very quiet, handle great, and tread design looks nice to top it off.

I bought the car about 7 months ago and the stock 14 inch steel wheels and covers had tires that were only 3,000 or 4,000 miles old, so I plan on keeping them and swapping to stock for the snowy months. Besides, that way I can have a more performance tire during the late spring, summer and early fall

i know, im starting to wish i just had bought summer tires and swapped them in the winter. whoda thunk no snow in colorado and its almost december. ya the center cap over the lugs looks very clean, you going to love getting those 14's off!

I go on Tirerack all the time and filter through the menus to get area on the site where you can see the different wheels available for your car actually on a pic of the 6gc (you can make the 6gc different colors). Anyways, I recall that rim being an option, and if that is how you picked it, you should be okay. I got my rims from Tirerack a long time ago, and they fit perfectly. The only issue you will have is that lower profile tires do wear faster.

Personally i would not get the Kumho 711s. They are not that great. I would look for something more like Yokohama ES100s or something similar.

any thing with an offset of 35mm+ is going to look sucked in, anything smaller then 35mm will stick out....35mm is even with the body of the car.

Id just go for 35mm or get 40mm and get a 5mm spacer (the offset works backwards)

35mm flush with the car? how far the wheel extends depends on both the offset and the rim width, so that statement isnt necessarily true.

Oh no, my new wheels are 7.5" and at a 35mm offset. Are they going to look weird?

Not at all, that's actually a pretty good combo. A lot better looking than most of the guys that run 17x7 with a 40+ offset. Should look really nice!

i got a 38mm and i need to get spacers but im not sure if i want to... i kinda like the look of it cuz the rims makes it look better...

I got the Kuhmos because they were $56, and the next tire was $71. The ES100s are like $120/tire. Although I'd like to get the best performance-oriented tire I can, I'm not made of money and I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for affordability.

Not going to put them on until after winter. Stupid PA with its stupid snow. They're just sitting here in my room, so I can look at them lol.
