Sure, it'd be easier to get another car. But if you want a fast, unique, sexy car then I'd keep your Celi and swap it.
New Toyota project coming soon...
Dude, I hear ya. The starter and my accelerator pedal have both gone on the fritz.
Then when I realize how slow the stock GT is compared to some newer models, I find myself thinking "What about an engine swap?" but I have an auto and that would likely require a trans. swap which I have no idea how to do or who to trust to do it.
"What about a new car?" Supras are a bit out of my reach financially right now and they aren't exactly 'new' for around $20k. Besides, I just love my celi.
So man, all I can say is hang in there like a hair in a pancake. Mine is at 115k miles and sure, I know stuff it going to pop up.
But hey, can you swap a 3s-gte into a Festiva? I don't think so. Can you get ~28 avg. mpg in a Camaro SS without coasting to work? Nope.
So cheer up buddy! We're here for ya.

I got an oil leak fixed at about the same mileage. Probably just something easy like your valve cover gasket or distributor o-ring. Just go have it looked at.
i hear ya on this one...i loved my car once but im startin to despise it. why spend all this money and time (most importantly) tryin to make ur car look good and fast when u can go out and buy another car thatll most likely be better lookin and faster? just how i view things...cars arent up on the priority ladder anymore.

JDM guy made me do it.
I'm totally hearing you on that. I love the Celica no doubt but not enough to dump a bunch of money into. And yeah, I'm hardly in KC anymore to roll and there's no other Celica enthusiasts out here in Manhattan. Maybe like the 3 of us from KC should have a mini meet over Thanksgiving weekend or something
