dude, im seriously thinking about it, but when u were 18, could u even afford one? its not as easy as, "heres the cash, and look i have a sick engine in the car." theres time to put it in and other stuff. And for me theres putting it in and my 'rents hating the fact that its gonna be half the totall value of my car. (cars worth 6K, beams motor and tranny are 3K)
If i can get by them, then im gonna get it.

Your statement makes perfect sense... and you should think about applying it to yourself. There are vast differences between want and need. However... you cannot compare yourself to me... unless you know me. ;] I've been doing this stuff for the better part of 10 years. I started working on cars as soon as I could turn a wrench. I've been through the race schools, raced for several years... but now I drive a totally stock car and have little plans for the future (car-wise). What I "want" and what I "need" are two different things. Sure I wouldn't mine (want, even) having a BEAMS 3SGE under the hood... but what I need is a good running engine getting 32-38 mpg...
Also... when I was 18... I had several cars... kinda like now... =P
