as the story goes, i was having trouble with my bearings, so i had decided to drive my car to the mechanic and then have my friend take me to work early friday morning. On rt 80 in the left lane, my wheel comes off, so now im a sitting duck, realizing the situation i turn on my hazards, take my seat belt off, stay in the car and call 911. Afterwards, i called my friend who was following me to tell her to get off the highway,. come back around and wait in a safe place, while on the phone with her someone obviously not paying attention to the situation doing approximately 75 mph rear ends me full on sending my car 20 ft forward and into the express lanes on 80 were i could have easily been hit again. As for his car, goes 50 ft forward and into the center lane, not sure if it flips or not, but it does end up on its roof. (4 door acura legend-size car)

Moral of the story... when i get the police report, i will be paying his car a visit...

PS.. how messed up is this... since the car was totalled and i dont think it was my fault for the accident, the state police had it towed to one of their garages, after coming out of the hospital 2 days later, i call them, ask them where my car is, they cant tell me, the officer who took down the report hasnt been in for work yet since then, meanwhile is accumulating storage fees at the garage they chose to tow it to, meaning im paying for the storage fees when no one could tell me where or how to get the car...

PPS and yes i will be stripping the car down of everything i put into it and hopefully i can sell/salvage parts.

oh my! Freddy are you okay?!!?? I hope you're allright, I'm so sorry about your car, and yes you can sue. DO NOT confront the man that hit you personally. That will cause problems. You need to sue him. As far as that goes, he can be sued for negligently operating a motor vehicle, in the complaint it should ask for releif for the damages, hospital bills, and the storage fees. Keep receipts for everything... If you take this to court and you should, your going to need proof of everything inasmuch as the Defendant's lawyer can Answer your Complaint with a Demand for a Bill of Particulars in which you will need to prove the ammounts you are asking relief for.

oh boy, well then i guess you can't, get on with sueing that guy ASAP, and have someone take pictures of what your inguries look like now, because you can use them as an exhibit, and by the time this goes to trial- if it goes- you will have healed some. mmmk

So what lane were you in when you got hit? It sounds like you weren't in the emergency lane. Glad you're okay though. So who's fault is it your wheel came off? You might want to talk to those guys.

tell the judge, that when the other person hit you, your wheel came off and it sent the car flying, cause they weren't paying any attention and so on. This looked almost like the other day when there was a car accident on the freeway. Mine was on highway 540 going north. My friend was driving my car cause I was tired, so when the car in front of us suddenly stopped he just braked, locked up and since the other driver behind us would hit us we had to go right of the road and unto the the grass. It was hella scary, cause there were like body bags all over the place, choppers flying all over the place, sqad cars and even 2-3 local news reporter cars. We would have become the next body bags.

The car was stuck in the left lane, not shoulder, and you stayed in the car? Why on earth did you do that?

Why would he lie?.. i dont get it. He had his hazards on, if the wheel came off there is no way he could have moved the car to the sholder or emergency lane. The person who hit him is a fault becuase they were not paying attention, if you see hazards you slow down, move out of the lane... not hit them at 75mph. I could see how Freddy would be at fault IF he didn't put his hazards on and just sat in the left lane. Accidents happen, and drivers should be aware of what is going on around them. If the other drive was paying attention to the surroundings the would have seen the hazards from far enough away that they could have slowed down, even if they still hit Freddy they would not have been going as fast and as a result the impact would not have been as hard, or the inguries as bad.

Crap, that just flat out sucks. At least you're alive and not paralized. It will take time but at least it will become a neat story to tell your grandkids in the future! >>

cause the shoulder or median that was dividing the highway is not even as thick as my a$$ it was only a curb to divide the local lanes with the express, and judging by where the car started and where the car ended up, unless i could run the 40 yd in 3 seconds,. i wouldve been run down by my own car

lol i was goin to, i saw the one on ebay in illinios for 7000 that me and my fam were decideing on, i had my heart set on it cause it had a 3sgte and everything already, but in the end they wouldnt let me get it, now they are forcing me to get a new car, and are even fronting some of the money (i know, how bad is it that im turning down this new car for another 6gc)
