cold air on ebay? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #30338 12 posts Started by FSX_Celica94GT
this guy is selling his supposedly Injen CAI for our cars. item number 8010000142
its for 180, anyone kno if its real?

It's not just about getting from point A to point B anymore....
for $180, that is so far beyond what anyone should pay for an intake, the only thing an CAI is, is a peace of metel pipe with a filter, you might as well get the cheapest civic intake you can find that\ has a sharp enough angle to fit ok cut it to the right lenght, and then get a K&N filter. save you at least $140 and would work just as well.

Item number: 8009438682
^ That one would do just fine, I would cut about 6 inches of the end.

Item number: 8009858175
^ looks to be almost a perfect fit already.

and he is not telling the truth about his car either

didn't go over 100 mile an hour before this in take

an intake would not affect the cars top speed, it would only make it get there a litle bit faster then stock.

im not thinking about getting it, im just asking if its a real authentic injen, or if hes just stupid and doesnt kno the difference between a SR and a CAI

I saw that on ebay today, but I question its authenticy

he just has a generic pic for injen, so its hard to tell.
injen DOES NOT make a CAI for our celicas.
he's prolly using a generic pic, and will either send you the short ram they make, or some cheap concotion he made himself, with an injen sticker on it.

Very true--i've done way too much research on air intakes... >tongue.gif> ...that's a short ram if it is Injen. It does say he is a authorized internet dealer...so i'd say it's legit...if you buy w/paypal, you'll have buyers protection...so if he sends you the wrong thing--you can nail him. So it's not really that much of a risk...if your looking for a short ram, i'd do it...injen is top quality (that's why it's so $$$$)

--i'd recommend if you don't have a turbo to get a cold air intake...short rams just suck hot air....but everyone has their own view on that...

grrrrrrr...for the best bang for your buck, buy the drop in stock K&N filter and remove the bottom stock air box, takes 10-30 minutes to do and is the best intake setup. injen is nice looking but is short ram. cai is long, has cold air, however you sacrifice throttle response...Urbandorks cai was nice however it was rubbing against the plastic tire well. you can extend it so that it runs near the radiator for more cooling however you lose allot of response. ive done every setup that i can think of and will continue to preach the stock setup minus the bottom stock air box with a drop in k&n filter. not only does it look stock, smog places wont give you crap about having a "illegal" cai setup. if anyone needs pics of my setup i will post em.

btw..Injen does not make a cai for our car..it is indeed a short ram setup...you can buy one for $50-$75 thru the b/s forum if your lucky.

Yeah, I don't like that my intake pushes my tirewell a little bit but it's not enough to hurt anything. I think my throttle response is very much improved though, I don't know how a CAI could decrease it. It's no longer than what the stock would be without the lower resonater

run the stock with infender crap removed w/k&n
and a 2.5" piece of duct running from your front bumper to your stock box

well i had it for awhile as well, but its not a secure setup, a few times my tire would hit it and knock it loose.plus the tire rubs the well down then eventually will hit the filter. my new setup cost me $40 because i bought a drop in k&n filter.
