Im putting a centerforce Dual friction clutch in my GT. boy oh boy its a pain to have to undo just about every suspention component in the car to get to the tranny then drop it. remove the axles and stuff. ugh. sorry guys just venting. Bandit will be good to roll tomorrow night cause its been raining and i couldnet finish her till tomorrow. Peace.

Yeah i hear ya, but guess what, thats a cake walk once u learn how to do it. Make sure u cover the ends of the transaxles with bags, so that nothing gets on them. Make sure u have some extra codder pins too, cuz you probably destroyed the ones you had. They're cheap too, easy replace. And make sure u have a clutch disc centering tool, if u screw that up, ur clutch wont work right, and hence, screw up ur pressure plate and maybe even ur flywheel.
Oh yeah, if u havent dropped the tranny yet, bec areful, its about 80lbs.

when i replaced my clutch i dropped it through bottom, i figured it would be easier to do it that way then to take out the entire engine. so when i took it out i layed on the floor and lifted it out with my arms then onto my chest, then kinda rolled over to put it on the floor. then did the same thing going back in too. >

unless your doing an aftermarket light weight flywheel, why would you replace that?

a mechanic quoted me $1200 just for labor to do a stock clutch replacement...so im easy with mine >

You know the only way to gain experience, is to do it yourself...I never messed with cars till I got my Celi...now the only thing I haven't touched is my tranny....reason is my mechanic was paid to drop the engine and tranny in...I did all the rest of the work...so now that I have my NEW freaking problem with the tranny...Guess who's getting a visit tomorrow! He'd better not have messed it up...I swear..you want something done right...you have to do it yourself...that's a univeral truth.
Super yeah thats the idea. I figure since they are going to be either machining or replacing the flywheel may as well upgrade now.
A flywheel is something that normally isnt replaced until extreme high mileage or, u really really dont kno how to drive.

ok I have had the car about 3 months, clutch was going when i got it, its on 120000kms, toyota dealer said the flywheel needs machining.
I don't know why you keep on with this, many people get lightweight flywheels... so I figure nows the time.

Whoa dont be starting with me i aint in the mood. 120,000 is alot so yes by that time i would accept the fact a flywheel might need replacing. Secondly, i said UNLESS YOUR GETTING A LIGHT WEIGHT FLYWHEEL. I dunno if u saw that. So YOUR FINE, u have high mileage, so fine, lets drop it, but i am just stating facts here aight.

Well the clutch kit set me back 380 dollars not bad considering i got a discount from my friend. Im having touble getting the axles out there being very difficult. but as soon as im done ill tell how the centerforce works.
