Topic #29987 13 posts Started by FSX_Celica94GT
the hood protectant under my hood has got oil all over it and it gets on top of my engine cuz it touches it when the hood is closed. Anybody know any other companies or sites that make this stuff or something thinnner?

It's not just about getting from point A to point B anymore....
Why not just clean it, and fix the oil leak?
hmmmm, ive never considered cleaning it. But the oil leak isnt there anymore, cuz it wasnt actually ever an oil leak. thx galcobar

Why not just remove it all together????
I have the same situation, but mine is torn and i want to leave it on, but where can you get a new one?
Have you tried the sticky backed silver heat shielding matting????
odd, my 99 stock hood never had any or the previous owner took it off.
Do you really need that stuff under there? Our CF hoods don't have anything...
yeah 98-99s didd have it there at all. all i know is that that stuff costs a lot. dont try putting any other type of insulation in there, or you could start a fire.

its so the heat from the engine doesnt bubble the paint off or make it start chipping supposedly. i dont think it matters my 97 doesnt have it on there either but my brothers and moms camry has it on theres a 2000 and a 99. so i dont know when they determine when to use it.
