Thanks guys...
I'm pretty sure that it's just reinforcement so you can't dent those parts of the door panel.
so can i take them off and swith them to my new panel?
The plainer panels appear to be similar to the System 10, 92-93 versions from the fifth-gen, save for the position of the window/lock controls.

On the doors proper, after you've pulled the panels off, is there anything that appears to connect with the additional pieces you're seeing on the panels?

i thought the foam peice was to isolate noise from the lock mechinism and the plastic bottom box was for side impact crash protection.

I dunno that was always my assumption.
I had those white "box's" in my door panels 2 each and 2 in each of my Interior quater panel plastic, I just took them all out.

I think they have todo with sound quality.

I am a thief.do not buy anything from me.
foam is for sound and vibration and plastic just adds rienforcement to the car. AYou don't need them, but keep them if you can.
its prolly because they are diff year or that they are from GT... And since GT is cooler Toyo prolly put some more of that good stuff in there.
Its either dent proof or somekind of vibration/sound dampening thinny!!!
