Clutch Problem - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #29863 10 posts Started by TRD-ST204
Hey, If a clutch is burning everytime you drive will it eventually break? What will happen to the transmission? My clutch is burning everytime I drive; I'm not dropping the clutch or anything like that I just drive like normal. I am worried about it because I don't have really good knowledge about clutches. Please help, Thanks.

what do you mean by burning? Do you tend to ride on the clutch?
You can smell the clutch when you get out of the car and I don't ride the clutch.
(not meaning to sound bad if I do) Are you sure it's the clutch you're smelling?

Have you checked your gear oil?

CLOSED on 25 acres!-shop coming soon....
if youve smelled clutch before you know its a distinct smell that makes u gag... how many miles are on your clutch? and are you modded (5sfte kind of mods)

94' ST Coupe - 5sfe Motor swap and brake swap.
There no modification was done to my car like a 5sfte. From what I know it is the factory clutch that came with the car when it was new and it hasn't been replaced yet. There is about 115,000 miles on my car.
its probably starting to slip really bad. take it to a tranny shop like amaco and they will diagnose it for free .
