I was just wondering how the fuel gauge works on the clusterr. See I have an st205 cluster now and the fuel wont display. it tells me when im about to run out by lighting up the orange fuel light. but thats about it. the needle stays on empty. anyway to reset this or something? thanks.

maybe with all these problems you're having with that cluster you should put your stock one back??

AT200 and ST205 fuel level sending units function the same. Resistance on each is 3 ohms Full to 110 ohms Empty.

There are at least two different pinouts for the ST205 combo meter plugs. The major difference I see in the two schematics is the addition of the rear fog lights for the European models so it's probably safe to say the JDM ST205 will more than likely be identical to the Australian ST205. Also, some of the pins on plugs B and C are different as well.

According to Toyota BGBs at Celicatech
AT200 Combo Meter Plugs:
A: 13 pin
B: 16 pin
C: 10 pin
ST205 Combo Meter Plugs:
A: 16 pin
B: 10 pin
C: 13 pin

For Australian ST205 Combo Meter:

Also, in order to run your boost gauge you'll need to run a MAP sensor from an ST205 soley for the new guage cluster.

Wannabe. Thanks for all that info. However, I'm not very electronically inclined so I don't really know what any of that means. I hooked everything up how purplegt4 said and everything shoulda worked fine. But what does all that mean? Waht would I need to change to make the Fuel Gauge work? Thanks. By combo meter, I'm guessing you mean the temperature gauge? Because that would make sense since that one doesn't read correctly either. Thanks.

Combonation Meter is what is commonly refered to as the "cluster". As for the information I posted I'll try and explain what you need to do:

Example:
AT200---ST205
B14---to---B1
B6----to---A7

The AT200's wire 14 in Plug B needs to be connected to the ST205's wire 1 in Plug B.
The AT200's wire 6 in Plug B needs to be connected to the ST205s wire 7 in Plug A .

Remember that we are using the plug labels A, B, and C just like they appear in the BGB:
AT200 Combo Meter Plugs:
A: 13 pin
B: 16 pin
C: 10 pin
ST205 Combo Meter Plugs:
A: 16 pin
B: 10 pin
C: 13 pin



More than likely your water temperature gauge is connected wrong as well. Try this:

For Australian ST205 Combo Meter:
Water Temp Gauge
AT200---ST205
C2---to---B3
C4---to---B2

For European ST205 Combo Meter:
Water Temp Gauge

I might be able to help a little better if you told me exactly what you've done so far and what you're working with.
Do you have the plugs that go to the ST205 Combo Meter?
Where is the Combo Meter from Japan, Europe, Ausralia..?
What information has PurpleGT4 supplied you with?
Have you downloaded the EWDs for the ST205 and the AT200/ST204 from celicatech?

Yes Wannabe, I do have the original plugs and about a foot of wiring that was cut from the ST205 harness. I cut the plugs from the AT200 harness right at the plug and connected the wires to the ST205 harness. The information that purplegt4 sent was this:

My ComboMeter was purchased from k_trac in Mass. He says the cluster is from Japan because it came with a front clip that had a ceramic turbo and that only the one's in Japan came with that.

I haven't downloaded the EWD because I don't understand those diagrams. Lol. I thought it was easier than it was. You must know a lot about elctronics because yes, my temp gauge doesn't work either. Lol. It would be awesome if you could tell me exactlyhow to hook this up so that everything works properly.

EDIT: I have an AT200 Automatic Transmission. I dont' know if that makes a difference...

Does the ST205 combo meter not have a warning light for the seatbelt or airbags?
Aparently the European ST205 doesn't have seatbelt, airbag, O/D off, or cruise control lights.

Before i give the pin information I'm going to make sure a few things are known:

1. You will not have a cruise control indicator.
2. You will not have an overdrive off indicator.
3. Wire A13 from the AT200 will not plug into anything which simply means your brake light won't come on when you're starting the car.
4. Rear foglights indicator will not be used for obvious reasons.
5. I have no idea what the indicator is below the rear foglight indicator and therefore will not be used.
6. There are diodes in the rear foglight and mystery indicator circuits. You don't need to worry about them. No need to put bulbs in their sockets either.
7. B13 on the ST205 combo meter will be directly connected to the MAP sensor from an ST205.

Thanks a lot Wannabe. I'll compare those to mine and make the appropriate changes as soon as I get home. I know for a fact that the ST205 has the seatbelt light, in fact, I got it working today(My "Dome" fuse under the hood was blown and my dome light, door open light, and seatbelt light didn't work.) But I'll doublecheck on the airbag light. I'm pretty sure it does have one. But for sure it does have a seatbelt warning light. I'm guessing the Australian ST205 is the same as the Japanese ST205? Is that what you meant there? Thanks again, Wannabe.

i say fill it up at the station, take the needle out and put it on Full.. u shoukld be good after that. i took mine off and put it back wrong, now when im on full it says im on half

EDIT: Nah, Charles, it still won't work. "Full" will just become the "dead point" for the fuel gauge because according to Wannabe's connections, my fuel gauge and temp gauge aren't even hooked up. Lol. Which makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

I italicized the similar wire connections so I know what I have to change. Are you sure this is correct tho because I'm pretty sure all my lights work at the present time. The only thing not functioning that I know of is the fuel gauge, temperature gauge, the 3 green bulbs won't light up the ComboMeter when I turn on my headlights, and the cooling fan stays on after I pull the key out of the ignition. But I can turn it off by pulling the wiper stick down all the way and pushing it back up when the car's off. Are you sure the Australian version is the same as the Japanese version? Because if it is then I'll go by what you said. Thanks again.

Nope, not sure if they are the same. I'm just working from the BGBs at Celicatech. There is only the diagram for australia and europe. If I had the cluster I'm sure I could get it to work without a problem. I do know that you've got something terribly wrong if your wipers turn off your car LMFAO.

LOL. I don't blame him. That's some funny sh!t. Only differences between AT200s would be OBDI and OBDII. You have OBDI since it was made before 1996 The wiring diagrams I'm using are for the OBDI so they should be exactly right.

I have a 1994 A/T AT200. This is a 6th Gen ST205 European(It has rear fog light, no cruise light, no o/d off light...yes, it has srs and seatbelt lights tho so i dont know why the diagrams didnt) cluster I'm putting in. None of these colors even match up. I know maybe they're not supposed to but in the connections by purplegt4, at least most of the cluster worked and most of the wires matched up in color. Were all ST205's OBDII? Are you sure this is supposed to work? I doublechecked everything, not one color wire matched up but nothing worked. I did it exactly like you said. I bolded the wires that didn't exist on the plugs of the AT200 and the ST205. I dont see how you have them connected to something else. Thank, I appreciate what you're doing for me but please help me out and stick with me or else I'm stuck. Thanks in advance. What AT200 diagram are you using to be exact?

If I use a multimeter, or one of those volt measuring things, how many volts or whatever should be passing through each wire? And how do you know if something is grounded correctly? Thanks.
