Removing broken bolt - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #29317 12 posts Started by Rjb23
Ok this really isn't for this forum, but it has to do with my 3sgte so if the mods wanna move it go ahead.

Anyway the people that were messing up my car for cash, broke a pressure plate bolt in the flywheel. I went to sears and got the bolt extractor things, and I was wondering will these do the trick?

Has anyone used em before, and have any tips to help make sure I get it out. I haven't done this before and wanna get all the info before I try.

Before you say take it to a machine shop, I don't have access to a impact wrench so the fly wheel is not gonna come off.
you mean they rounded the head on the bolt ? if thats all it is, youll be amazed by craftsman bolt outs

Nope talking about the actual stud. The head is broken off.
ouch, that sucks.

ive use those extractors on smaller screws and they worked well... so hopefully they will work for you.

Well its a small bolt, its a pressure plate bolt which is like a 10 mm bolt head.
oh...i was thinking flywheel bolts for some reason. you should have no problems taking that out.

What? Messing up my car for cash? I get the impression that you paid someone to jack your car so that you can claim the cash at your insurance joint. LOL! Coomer thats you isn't it? ( >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif> >biggrin.gif> ) JUST KIDDING! >owned.gif>
Well I apparently dropped my car off at the Baltimore Zoo and gave the monkeys hammers, and told them to go to town.
i personally would have gone to the chimps.. they do MUCH better work for 1/3 less cost >wink.gif>
