i hear ya bro. exactly what i want to do.
Is are sooooo nice. Theres a guy at my school with a pearl white one, carbon fiber front lip, Volk wheels, Short throw shifter, full exhaust, LSD, its rediculus. He throwing a twin turbo motor out of a supra into it then converting it to a single turbo. Hez aiming for 700HP.
Dont like it at all especially when lowered that much.

JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!
Yep, the four doors from that angle don't look that good.
i say do it... if you do it i might be inspired to do the same

i say get an altezza and be new and refreshing around here or dont do it. I saw plenty of IS 300s at global import car show and i was not impressed with any of em. maybe a tuned sc300? look into those they come with 2jz ready to be turboed, find low mileage one pickup a supra single turbo kit, slap it on, get a piggy back system and your looking into 500whp for your first set of upgrades.

2jz is a powerhouse, HKS 3mm HG you can run 25psi and people have gotten 1000hp at the crank on stock bottom end.

94' ST Coupe - 5sfe Motor swap and brake swap.
Wouldn't a stock IS300 be slower than your car itchy? IS300s are sweet, but I think your car looks way better and is a lot more unique than a IS300...plus I'm sure you'd end up with a car payment(or a bigger one if you already have one) which is never cool. >wink.gif>

New Toyota project coming soon...
IS's are nice! probably even the most perfect blend between a 4-door luxury and performance RWD, without the BMW or Mercedes price tag. most of the IS's are auto, but if you look deep enough, you'll find a few 5spd ones around.

I'd rather has a sc430 or a G35 coupe

Yeah if you look deep inside your wallets opening.
Only problem is, the 5 speed came out in 03 or 04, which means not a any real good used ones. still very expensive, and if your in college, dont bother, your just going to get screwed.
Wait for the IS350....I think that was the name of it.

you make it sound like all that stuff is free and easy to do. the more your car costs, the more youll spend on mods

word...IS300 aftermarket parts are vast but expensive
I like rare cars, and that's one of the reasons I got this 6th gen Celica. IS, to me, they are every where.. and doesn't really catch my attention as much as this family coupe that rarely anyone would fix up:

I love Solaras:

http://my.is/ is the best website if you are looking for info.

Let me clear up some misconceptions. IS parts are expensive(big suprise). Turbo and supercharger kits start at $5,000 and up. A stage one TC or SC with basic bolt ons will put at about 300 rwhp. 2002 was the first year of the 5 speed. If you take your time you can find a nice 5 speed for under $20,000. Stock bottom end on the 2jz-ge will only hold up to about 400 rwhp before it reaches it's limits as well as the stock IS 5 speed. The 2jz-gte bottom end will hold close 1,000 rwhp. The link below should answer most of your FI questions.

I hope this info helps in your decison making process. The first gen IS is a great platform. I enjoyed the car very much before I had to move on to the GS. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
