I was thinking about converting the car to look like a mercedes with the grill and emblems. The lights are similar. Is this illiegal? Like if a cop runs the plate and it doent match up with what he sees.

i dont think it would be. I know guys who do RSX conversions on CRX's. I drove a honda accord with a skyline conversion on it. They usually wont care. When they run the vin it will come up as a celica, plus if u still have like the toyota steering wheel in there it will kinda show its not a benz. But IMO, i wouldnt do it, im more of a bmw guy my self..lol
IMO, putting badges on your car of anything its not is really really lame. There's this one guy at my church who put the 'Leaping Jaguar' hood ornament on his Hyundai XG350. You wouldn't believe how incredibly stupid it looks. It's like lying without talking. Sorry if I sound like an ass this is just my $.02

I saw an extremely clean one in a mag. it was actually a lexus front with a mercedes rear. The donar was a honda and I believe it was in the mag called rides with lil kim and a lambo in the front.
It'd be funny if there were laws requiring you to display the ornamentation of the company you bought from.
Funny about the Jag emblem on the Hyundai... bet the latter brand breaks down less. Kind of annoying that they blatantly plagiarize off of Jag, Saab, Ferrari...
I know they can't go based off of emblems because so many are shaved or fell off....
