ok i know they help the car handle better but do they help with the launch of the car? someone told me this today and i didnt believe them.

Uh no, unless you're launching the car sideways =].

Sway bars just reduce body roll, or lean, when cornering. Stiffer springs and struts might help launch by reducing weight transfer on a hard launch, and motor mounts can help in that regard too by reducing the twisting motion of the engine when the torque hits, but not sway bars.

Besides the fact that it won't help, which you know and I'm not drilling you on, it's a Celica. I don't think launching is ever a problem with these things. You have to have power first, then you have launch problems.
