I read the TWM how to article and they told me to use a exacto knife to remove the first clip after you have removed the consel, well i had a really hard time with it and it got dark before i could even get it off, doesnt anyone know another way to get it off. I tried for proabably an hour just on that part. Help.

Im putting mine in tonight. Sounds pretty easy, just use the exacto to make the gap wide enought to stick a screwdriver in and then pry it off with the driver.

screwdriver and pry. It is best to replace it so don't worry about damaging the old one.

did you guys take off the upper console too? and i tried the screwdriver thing and the white plastic gives too much to get any force behind the clip.

needle nose pliers and pull.

I was able to take a screwdriver to mine and it popped off... almost lost it thought >> cuz i had to re-use it. I didn't remove the upper console.. when you release it, you can move the assembly up to get more access.

all you need to do is take your screwdriver and wiggle the top, left side, right side, and everywhere in between. Just work your way all around the clip. you can twist the flat tip so that it forces separation.
