Hey guys im thinking about getting some cheap tools to fix some little thing in my car. what can I fix with these tools from this set

is it good enough for basic stuff like tune ups brakes rotors and suspension work. Thanks in advance

should be fine. any larger more expensive tools you might need (eg: a torque wrench) you can get from autozone as a loaner

is a torque wrench really necessary when doing certain projects?

not for everything, but for suspension yes, I'd say so

craftsman 151peice set is nice and only about 100$


basically for the celica u need.

sockets/wreches : 10m 12m 14m 17m 19m and 30m if u plan to take your axels out. standard spark plug socket... a few extensions, and a braker bar to help u get things loose or really tight

I was thinking about it. I went to check it out yesterday and the 151 pc I dont think it comes with the 6" extension for plugs and my bro was like tools are tools so thats why i was looking at the cheap stuff.

now that i look at it, i think thats the same set i bought right when i was doing my swap . all the wratchets from that set ended up breaking on me, and the tool set included most like 12point sockets ( 12= lots of striped bolts).

now i have that craftsman one and i like it a lot better. no tool set will give u everything. you sort of have to get one, and then buy a few things here and there to add on to it . cool thing with craftsman is that if it breaks, its easy to walk into sears and have them just hand u a reaplacement for free.

its up to u tho ... ive had good luck with the stanley brand of tools too, if what another brand to check out

hmm after you said that i might reconsider my decision. Might just spend the extra money and get the craftsmans i think the stanley one is about the same price as the craftsman well when the craftsman is on sale that is.

I wont use any thing but craftsman, or snap on. Craftsman is easyer to get replacements tho. I even had a socket that i ground down to fit some thing i was working on, it broke on me and they still replaced it.

what about Mac Tools?

mac is good....but i think they cost a lot

I bought a expensive set of craftsman tools... Trust me, you won't regret buying quality. I have used the cheap stuff... you can tell a huge difference. My dad has an old set of craftsman tools... <than 40 yrs old.... all the ratchets and stuff still work exactly like mine... perfectly.

Always buy good name brand tools. Life time warranties, and the quality is always much better.

I only buy craftsman, snapon, and mac but one cheap tool that has saved me a lot is a cheap harbor freight electric impact wrench. I don't have enough space or money for a compressor but this thing was like 30 on sale bucks and does 240 ft/lbs. I think the only thing I havn't been able to get off with it was the axle bolts.

im guessing thats the corded one and not cordless, right? ive been thinking of buying a cordless impact gun for taking lug nuts off and stuff like that.... anyone here ever use those and know anything good/bad about them ?
