Noise when accelerating - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #27258 9 posts Started by TRD-ST204
I notice when I accelerate there is some sort of crakling noise coming from the car. I just want to know where it is coming from and why it is happening. Thanks
where in the car is it coming from? Does it increase in frequency as the car goes faster? Details help pinpoint where / what the problem is. Just telling us that a car makes a noise when you hit the pedal isnt really much help.

so your're saying we're psychic? lol jk, just sounds funny

It's not just about getting from point A to point B anymore....
Sorry guys, I should have been more descriptive in where the noise is coming from. It is definately not coming from the inside or the spare tire because I made sure it was secure. It seems to be coming from the heat shield in the rear of the car (where the muffler is located). I suspect that it is the heat shield because every time I close the truck it makes a noise.
haha i have the SAME noise... its like the sheet metal rattling... its so annoying.

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
if yall have short ram intakes with heat shield, you probably have it too low and its rubbing againest the frame causing the rattling. move it up a tad and try it.
I have the same problem, im gonna move my heat shield up and see if it works.
